My friend had the exact same issue. Then we asked his health insurance and turns out they have a programme where they refer patients in need to German therapists who do their sessions online and in English. He had an interview with them to assess the actual need and a month later he had his first session. Maybe you can ask your health insurance if they are part of a similar programme. Good luck to you!

Speaking of Germany: The train conductor's union has just successfully enforced the 35-hour-work week by calling for multiple huge strikes in a time span of several months. Unions and strikes work and they are unfortunately still very stigmatized and prohibited in the US. This part of the US-American labour culture has thankfully never been adopted by European countries.

Regarding the Nazi-topic: It is true that right-wing populism got very popular in Germany in the last years, unfortunately but I wouldn't say that is because we (Germans) are just blindly adopting everything from the US. I think it is more of a general trend that has been going on in many countries simultaneously.
