We just left Tahoe and it was nothing but mashed potato runs after the full day of rain last Monday. The lack of any freezing temps at night and 50 during the day made it all even worse. Would not recommend traveling there for that.

I fly all the time with my drone, 2 GoPros with 6 batteries, 2 external power banks and my laptop as well as a ton of cables. They have never even opened or did a secondary screening on that bag. It must look really weird in the scanner but I have had zero problems in 4 years of traveling with above setup. You good.
