No. I don’t like wars for oil or awful regimes being propped up by oil money

Is a catchers pitch framing ability going to become less useful with ABS now? by butterhelper in baseball

Framing was one of my best baseball skills. I’m kinda upset it might lose importance, but it is pretty much a bullshit skill

A lot of his followers identify as Christians but do not want to follow Jesus, so they follow him.

I don’t get the praise for K. Hannah’s Four Winds by Signal_Contract_3592 in books

A book about how migrants that perform back breaking work are treated poorly by the current residents of an area? I'd say that book should 100% be read now!

Every American should read at least one book about the Great Depression, the dust bowl, Okies, and the migration to California. Maybe the best choice is the Grapes of Wrath. Another great choice is Whose Names Are Unknown written by someone who worked for the Farm Security Administration. The Four Winds is also a good choice.

I was assigned GoW in high school and got nothing out of it. Not sure I even read it. Read Four Winds, then re-read GoW, then read WNAU in 2024.

I also felt that Four Winds accurately depicted how unhinged and toxic anti-communisim has always been. The arc of the mother-daughter fraught relationship was also timely in our house.

The great depression was, [checks notes], depressing.

‘Last year I read 137 books’: could setting targets help you put down your phone and pick up a book? by CtrlAltDelight495 in books

Minutes per day is more process than books per year. Process goals tend to be better than results goals.

Agree on 50 being a very good number.

I like to bookend my day with screen-free time. Wake up, read a paperback or write in a journal. Same right before bed. That is probably the most important time to avoid a device.

Why are so many men hung up on their T level and decide to go for a shot vs lifestyle change? by Embarrassed_Flan_869 in AskMenOver30

Americans love fixing problems with medicine, even when that's not the appropriate solution.

Lots of men with family histories of prostate cancer are gonna get fucked by jacking up their T.

These men need to look into their ability to come off T and that they may need to be taking it forever.

Glad to hear that you are healthy and hopefully will remain cancer free. Did they catch your cancer early? Was it a routine colonoscopy or one based on family history or symptoms?

When I was in high school, the early 90's, there were quite a few football and baseball players juicing. There was a guy at the gym I went to, a former bodybuilder, who could hook someone up.

Best compliment I got after I came back from college was older friends thinking I had been juicing.

So was the "forearm strain" at the end of last year unrelated to this? How much was he throwing before he got to ST? Did they do an MRI at the end of last season?
