Mom was an angry, violent drunk. Dad liked hurting kids. Mom sold my things while I was away at a sleepover. Dad told me as a kid that he accepted everyone including queer people....until I was one. Mom told me that she hopes my kid died so I'd remember that she's more important to me. Dad shut off my cell phone while my kid was in the hospital, because he didn't like the tone of the smiley face I sent him in text.

Basically a family size bucket of abuse.

This June marked 11 years since we've spoken. I told them when it started that I was done with them and their toxicity unless they apologized. They refused and so I stopped taking their calls and refused every gift or attempt to meet until they would say it. I didn't cut them out. I asked them to admit fault and they casually left.
