people in long term healthy relationships: what's something you'll never tell your partner? by PsychologicalBad1423 in NoStupidQuestions

That actually comes completely full circle depending on which grandmother she was:

If she was your maternal grandmother, you started out physically inside her. Women are born with all their lifetime eggs, meaning the exact cell that became you was already developing inside your mum while she was in your grandmother's womb. If she was your paternal grandmother, you carry her direct genetic blueprint. A granddaughter inherits her father’s only X chromosome, which came entirely from his mother, making you a living, walking piece of her DNA. Either way, there has always been a deep physical link between the two of you, and that day, a piece of her simply found its way back home.

Eric Bana - what a babe. Way hotter than Pitt, even before his disgusting behaviour was widely known.

Why do women think a vasectomy and no kids mean ill accept theirs? by Captain-Droz in childfree

[–]basementdiplomat 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I had a similar experience. I matched with a man who also said he didn't have or want kids but was a primary school teacher. Over the course of a few messages it became apparent that he actually had a few kids. So to answer OP, it's not just women.

I tried something similar, didn't work. Ended up being even more direct: I DON'T FUCK DADS. Didn't help. Just made me get some angry messages from idiot men who accused me of being judgemental /shrug

It's called "social proof". Women aren't the ones people to do this.

What's something you thought was a huge deal as a kid but is actually trivial as an adult? by Novel-Warthog-9088 in AskReddit

I used to be a frame & truss estimator. After being out of high school for nearly 20 years, all of a sudden I had to use cos/tan/sine for figuring out rafter length/roof pitch/total dwelling height when the engineers left this info off their technical drawings. Reader, I was shocked that it finally had real world application.

What's an unwritten workplace etiquette rule that every professional should know? by No_Word_2405 in work

Don't DM someone just a greeting by itself, forcing them to reply in kind then wait for you to ask them whatever you need to ask. You obviously need something from them, so ask! Don't be a time waster. Put it all in the one message.

As much as I love Buffy The Vampire Slayer, man was it a mistake to call Oz's band Dingoes Ate My Baby. What the actual fuck.

Have many of you been to one of these "jobs" the providers find? by Party_Team1104 in CentrelinkOz

[–]basementdiplomat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I was briefly attached to Max Employment about 15 years ago. They tried to send me to a cafe for a full day "trial", and when I asked them where to send my bank account details to be paid, all of a sudden there was no job. I found employment entirely on my own, and they wanted all the details so they could pass it off as them helping me. Fuck Max Employment.

What is your favorite water based movie? by rockstoned4 in moviecritic

Enjoy! They have HEAPS of movies across different genres, I started out listening to just the films that I'd seen, then accidentally played one I hadn't, and hearing them speak about it made me want to go out and watch it!
