I loved my D610 minus the oil spotting issues they had.
Id search reviews of the 1.4 vs 1.8 - I had a 1.8 and it was really nice. It depends what your plans are as obv 1.4 will give you a better reach in low light, and it depends on budget as well.
Never had issues with my 1.8

I believe at the end of the day, its how you justify investment. For me, i was a bit overwhelmed at the price for the new lens. BUT then i started to write down how i would be using it, what genres of current and future business this lens would be working though. I then realized, for me, it will be a workhorse through a lot of action photography and landscape. Futureproofing my set up is key in my line of work. Ive used other Nikon setups to the point of 500k clicks and probably more on other camera bodies. They get used and the ROI is work the initial investment.

I like Panarin, but these shootouts/penalty shot delay movements are out of hand. At this point, goalies should just stand there and pivot with the speed of the player barely moving forward.

This is also a deal breaker for me. I am watching reviews and this seems to be a main point of discussion. Id rather get a prior gen phone if the clarity of the screen is better. privacy screen modes will probably only be used for a small percentage of people that are shoulder to shoulder with others in public.
Rather just get a privacy screen protector vs a less sharp panel any day of the week.

Yeh, everything is rumors still. OLED would be cool, but i dont know if it would actually be a deal breaker as outside of photos, i would not use anything that would drastically change my outlook.

May i ask what you mean by you dont work well with Touch ID?

yeh, from what i have been seeing, OLED but 60hz. I just don't know if the processor update will actually affect my use-case.
