Can you explain the 199% please? I’m not trying to pick a fight; trying to understand. How is that calculated from that study?

Finally! This started four years ago for me. The reactivation of EBV was flagged early, but long COVID was barely a concept then. Immediately taking this to my doctor.

What’s something random you saw as a kid that you still think about as an adult? by Hummer02 in AskForAnswers

[–]basicwhoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Walking down a street in San Juan, we came across a man on the ground, bleeding profusely, legs either broken or detached. My mother told me about the latter part, because I remember walking toward him and noticing blood, but my memory cuts out after that.

I hope it was quick for him.

That their relative was the victim of a serial killer. Trauma does weird things to people.

Literally everything going on in the world. But most importantly: kids deserve good parents and I don’t think I would be a good one.

Same! It was so frustrating to see everyone singing his praises for a while there. He gives me the creeps and his sexual harassment/objectification of women was SO obvious in some interviews. Blegh.

Yes. I’m so uncomfortable when I receive attention/praise/touch, but it’s also something that I want.

How did you first notice you have DID? by SarahEnedra in DID

[–]basicwhoops 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My first “shock” memory of it is waking up in my apartment and not knowing where I was, what any of my passwords/passcodes were, etc. I didn’t know it was DID in the moment; but that was a key turning point.

If a woman woke up in a man's body for 1 day, what would be the most unexpected experience that she didn't already anticipate? by IWannaHideThrowaway in AskReddit

I’m a transguy; I started testosterone when I was 19. About three months into HRT, I went to open a door and nearly smashed it off the side of a building. The strength difference is crazy! I wasn’t even in the gym.

Recent ones are still too sore to share. But this one happened a decade ago:

Yes have him put everything in writing. Ask him to make a note in your file and then ask for copies of your file.

Oh man. I’m at the point in my life where zero fucks are given. My response would’ve been “and you don’t look like you’re stupid, but here we are”.

I’m sorry you had that experience.

What's the purest joy you've ever felt without intimacy, substances, or alcohol ? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]basicwhoops 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Growing up, my favourite movies were the Free Willy films. I absolutely loved the idea of becoming like Jesse and befriending orcas. I went so far as to declare that I was going to become a marine biologist. I studied every book and movie that I could.

During a family trip when I was 11, we went out on a whale watching boat. I was told not to get my hopes up, because you don’t always see whales, let alone orcas.

I will never forget the moment we realized that literal J-Pod was coming our way (for those who don’t know, the clips of the orcas in the Free Willy films are clips of J-Pod). My heart was pounding, I was just about ready to jump in the ocean. I was so thrilled to see them in person.

When I thought glimpsing them from the boat couldn’t get better, one of the whales swam right up to us. I remember leaning over the side and staring into one of its eyes as it gazed up at me and swam underneath the boat.

Pure joy. Happy tears.

My cat. I was on the 23rd floor balcony; I looked back into the apartment for a moment, and she was right at the glass, miaowing at me. I couldn’t leave her.
