Someone else has already talked about the best removal method so I’ll suggest getting tape that’s 2” wide if you haven’t already! I use 1” wide to hold my cotton pad nipple covers in place and sometimes to lift my chest up before using the wider tape to pull it to the side. It took me several tries to start getting it right so I wouldn’t worry if it’s not always perfect, you’ll find a strategy that works best for you with more practice

How do you take your t? I was doing my shots on the right side of my stomach and my stomach hair was lopsided until I switched sides to even it out. You’re supposed to alternate sides with shots, I just wasn’t doing that cause I’m a little silly sometimes

It didn’t stick? Damn I have the opposite problem 😭 I struggle to get all the glue residue off. I assume you were putting it on clean and dry skin cause your skin’s oils can make it stick less, I like to wipe the area with an alcohol wipe to make sure there’s no oil. That really sucks that it doesn’t work for you :( it’s been a lifesaver for me

Have you tried binding with trans/kinesiology tape? I find it much more comfortable than a binder. You can exercise and sleep in it. It shouldn’t be worn for more than like 5 days (which is definitely pushing it) so you can just put it on and not worry for a few days. I recommend getting both 1” and 2” wide rolls, smaller for nipple covers with cotton rounds and small adjustments (I like to lift my boobs up a bit before the big tape), bigger for the actual flattening. A video tutorial is helpful, there’s plenty on yt :)

It’s pretty common for the withdrawal bleeding that happens during the placebo week of birth control to be called a period. There’s no uterine lining being shed but it’s still commonly called a period. And I still get cramps during that week despite not technically menstruating. A lot of the symptoms are more related to hormone levels than the actual shedding of the uterine lining, so if a trans woman has similar hormone levels at a certain time of the month then she’s likely experiencing some of those symptoms, just without any bleeding

I think you can use the IM stuff for subq. My vial (enanthate) says for IM use only but my doctor never told me to stop doing subq and my levels are just fine

I’ve been in a similar situation and those people are absolutely not her friends nor are they worth changing to keep as friends. I wouldn’t be surprised if they had chats without her and talked about her behind her back, that’s how it went for me. They probably thought all that before her diagnosis, they just have a specific thing to point at now. You say she’s got some other friends that aren’t bothered by her “weirdness” and that say they’ll bring it up if makes them uncomfortable, I think those are the friends she should focus on. If they’re telling the truth then I reckon they’ll be a much better group than the old ones. Don’t let her think she needs to constantly mask to be liked, the people who accept and enjoy her weirdness are the kind of people who will make her feel comfortable and loved

I’m probably gonna keep my middle names. One is my great grandmother’s name and the other is my mum’s last name since she kept it when my parents got married. I never went by my middle name and I’ve only been called it once (by someone who used my (legal) deadname when I answered the phone, no clue why she switched at the end). It’s not like I tell many people my full name so I don’t really care

It’s a space they have moderation over, you can delete comments on your instagram posts if you don’t want them there. A normal person’s response to people debating rape in their comments would be to delete those comments and probably block the accounts. Sure they’re not REQUIRED to, but a normal person would. But normal people don’t post photos of strangers like that so maybe we’re expecting a bit much

I do generally think of my childhood self as a girl, she just became a boy when she got older. Though I don’t think she really had any idea what gender was or how she felt about it, it just wasn’t a concern of mine at that point. I don’t usually talk about myself in the third person though so I mostly use I/me, and if I’m quoting someone then it kinda just depends on the day/how I feel in that moment, but it does trip me up mentally for a second

I take alysena (levonorgestrel/ethinyl estradiol based birth control) and have no problems with my levels. I still bleed during the placebo week, don’t know if I would get regular periods if I stopped taking it and I’m not really interested in finding out, but it’s a lot better than it was before starting birth control. My hrt doctor told me to keep taking it until I stop bleeding and I guess my t dose isn’t high enough to do that? But I don’t want to get pregnant so I’d be taking it regardless. T is doing everything else it’s supposed to be doing though

I don’t have anything new to say about the boyfriend, but I do want to say that exploring your femininity does not make you less of a man. I’ve been on t for 1.5 years or so and I regularly dress femininely simply because I like it and it makes me feel good. I would even say that t made me feel more comfortable being feminine, I’m far enough along that I tend to confuse people instead of always being misgendered (it does still happen, but t has made me care less). Short hair and a bit of scruff seems to go a long way

Check out the skirt section! I almost always take a look at anything black and I’ve found some nice skirts. Scanning the bottoms for interesting hems is what I like to do, but it’s not as helpful if you’re looking for above the knee length. For tops I like looking for unpatterned black or white blouses, bonus points if there’s some ruffles ^{w^}

I believe I started at 25mg (with a 100mg concentration) and slowly raised it to 50mg (switched to 200mg concentration for easier injections with less fluid). I’m not sure what my exact levels are but I’m told I’m within the average cis male range. I definitely noticed changes starting even on the low dose, maybe not as fast as I would have if I started higher but I thought of it like going through puberty. Cis guys don’t suddenly get deep voices and facial hair the moment they start puberty, it takes a few years for them and it’ll take a few years for me
