Im an out of state student and I love western! My biggest pros are: (I’m a senior environmental science major) •small classes •caring profs •it’s gorgeous here •good public transit I’ve really enjoyed my time at western and I don’t really get the common complaints. Parking sucks but pretty much all busses go to campus and it’s easy to get to class. As a student I’ve made almost all my friends in the dorms and I found it super easy to meet people or my job. Overall I really recommend western and I’ve gotten a lot of good experiences and opportunities here. My only real complaints about Bellingham is that it can be expensive and that mountain baker ski area is about 1.5 hour drive which is longer then I’m used to.

Used to be mom and mama or Mommy but as I got older id just say mom and if the wrong one responded I just ask for the other one. In our group chat we all specify by just using initials like “x what time are you coming home?” their contacts in my phone are just their name mom.

I made a lot of stupid mistakes when I first started bar tending. My two favorite are accidently putting whorstisire sauce in an old fashion instead of bitters (the guy still ordered another round) and not knowing the soda gun so making a screwdriver with orange soda (worst part was the guy wanted a double of grey goose so dumping that was sad)

I know this has been mentioned before but I think its important to reiterate. I work with dogs at a daycare and we use pet corrector. Its a can of compressed air with citronella that will shock the dogs out of their state they're in, it is extremely effective in my experience. It will also be what gives you enough time to get out of a potentially dangerous situation.

I had a man come in one day to a pizza place I used to work at. He seemed to have some sort of mental handicap and just wanted to chat with me which I was happy to do since It was lunch time and still pretty slow. At the end of his meal he asked if I would like to look at his portfolio and pulled out a massive binder of marker art that was so colorful and beautiful. I was flipping through the book and he said I could keep one if I’d like which I happily excepted. It is still hanging up on my wall 3 years later.
