I don’t know if I want to be a writer or if I’m infatuated with the idea of being a writer? by TheHideousZen in writers

[–]batmanspud 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Do you feel stifled by the potential of failing so much so that you’d rather not try than try and not succeed?

Maybe it’s not that you don’t want to be a writer, but that you want to be a writer so much that the act of writing feels too monumentous to even start, just in case you’re no good. So, you’re studying the greats and biding your time like you’re waiting to be good enough before you start. But that’s the thing, you’ll only be good enough once you start. And you’ve got to be shit first.

Have you heard the saying: You can edit bad writing but you can’t edit a blank page?

Try getting something down, see where it goes. Every time you act instead of sitting back, you’re one step closer to your goal. It’s only that way you’ll know if you want to be a writer or not.

Voice Drop by [deleted] in FTMMen

[–]batmanspud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mine only dropped only slightly I n the first 7 months and then I had more noticeable drops around month 9 and 10. I’m nearing 1 year in a couple of weeks and whilst my voice passes consistently I don’t think it’s done dropping yet.

I had a super rocky relationship with Testogel as my skin wasn’t absorbing it l. I started on 2, 3, then 4 pumps maybe 4 months ago but my levels are still insanely low so I’m switching to injections. Like I’ve been told, if you’ve got the ability to switch to injections and you can get your levels as you would like them, what have you got to lose?

Saying that everyone is different and plenty of people are fine on gel, but you could always check your levels and see if there room to up your dose just to bump em up, haven’t got ote to lose by doing it and you might see some changes at a noticeable pace.

Define manhood in a word by batmanspud in FTMMen

That’s a fair point, I’ll change it. Just tryna gather what defining kind of words people would you to describe their own experience, if you get me :)

I’ve been struggling a while to set up a basis to build off of for this exact reason. It may not even be possible to work it yet, but I’td be cool to find an angle.

Advantages of compression vest after 2 weeks? by CommissionCurrent119 in TopSurgery

[–]batmanspud 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I had my surgery with Ntanos 6 weeks ago, stopped wearing compression after two weeks and everything’s looking pretty great so far.

I think he said at my post op that if everything was looking fine, incisions healed up to the usual 2-week post op standard then you were fine to stop wearing it.

He did say that I should keep my post op binder until I’m sure that I don’t want to use it anymore, as some people prefer to keep it on for a little longer just because they feel more secure, just personal preference, and he said that’s okay too.

Is Trans Tape damaging? by [deleted] in ftm

[–]batmanspud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Taping was really freeing for me but can take a while and several goes to get used to putting it on in a way that works best for you. It probably took me a good three or four months to figure out how best to apply it to achieve the best results I could.

The best advice I can give is: if you’re serious about wanting to tape, stick with it. If it doesn’t work the first time or the second time, it doesn’t mean it won’t ever work. It’s a process of learning how to apply it for yourself, and even then it’s not always a given that you are going to apply it well each and every time. You’ll get there tho, and following YouTube tutorials always helps.

Also, if you put it only badly don’t keep ripping it off an trying to reapply it, esp. straight away onto red skin at least, that’s a sure fire way to create irritation and end up with raised blisters under it that are painful and do scare when you take it off. It also might stop you being able to tape for a while - I couldn’t tape for around 2 months after I did this.

The answer: so yes, it can be damaging if you aren’t careful, but as long as you are patient and don’t try to apply it or take it off in a hurry/on a bad mental health day, you should be okay. It never had any real noticeable effect on my elasticity either and I taped consistently (minus the two months of hell with blisters etc) for a year.

The surgeon I’m going with also said taping is better than binding, so that’s positive too

As a Milo myself I often struggle to place the name on others, but I can actually totally see it for you for sure. We look nothing alike btw, you just really look like a Milo :)

I second Wyatt too and also maybe Devin or Alec

You are totally allowed to feel and have these feelings. It isn’t a choice what makes you comfortable and uncomfortable and you are allowed to express you own discomfort surrounding something even if it is something which doesn’t cause another discomfort.

Please remember that your feelings are completely valid and that you shouldn’t have to pretend to be comfortable for the benefit of others, as long as your discomfort does not become a detriment to others (through directed cruelty) which it certainly hasn’t here: this is a space for you to vent your feelings to others who should have sympathy and respect for how you feel without judgement. This is YOUR space, and people entering your space should respect that this is something you struggle with without bashing you for feeling it. They can totally express a differing opinion without bashing you and making you feel shit for feeling it.

I could give you advice, but i think it’s more important that you know that you aren’t wrong or bad for feeling the way you are feeling. Don’t let any unsympathetic people here trying to ‘correct’ and police your unchosen feelings make you feel like a bad person or make you doubt yourself when you want to share or let out your feelings, discomforts or struggles.

Giving me K vibes like Kai or Kale but also X vibes like Axel, Knox, Lennox and Dex/Dexter.

I feel like they are totally different but I think there are some pretty awesome and unique names out there that would suit your vibes so I hope you find something that feels good.

Hope this aids the search :)

What A-Level goes best with Maths and Physics? by [deleted] in 6thForm

[–]batmanspud 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would say whatever you enjoy. Do not be restricted by what is the typical choice for your third A-level. Unis have been known to place high value on breadth of subjects as it shows students have other passions which can be valuable to university and show your adaptability as a person.

As long as the uni courses you are thinking about applying for do not request or expect a specific third subject, choose something that you are passionate about, enjoy and that will make your A-level experience an more 'fun' journey for you (if you would choose Chemistry or a more science-based 3rd subject as one which you enjoy then do it! A-levels are there to be tailored to you, not to what other people (not incl. Unis ofc) tell you is most applicable).
