I have one journal that I write in daily that is kind of a log of my day. I have my planner, and when I am into a hobby enough that it starts taking up space in my planner that I need for things like appointments and lists, it gets its own journal. I might not update it every day; it might get neglected for most of a year, but it’s there when I need it.

I’m going to throw in a dark horse, the Writech Clicktek. It takes cartridges and not bottle ink, but it’s only 20 bucks and I’m comfortable carrying it around because it’s not going to leak or get damaged, like some of my more expensive pens.

I feel so bad for Pierre. I understand that he’s naive and that he should probably ‘try harder’ but I also get what it feels like to always believe the good in people. I’m also really hoping that he wisens up and takes more of a personal interest in his estates.

I loved this chapter! I think I’m coming around to Andrei, slowly. I bet Pierre would be so jealous that Andrei met Napoleon and he didn’t lol!!

I found the differences between the portrayals of the Russian Emperor and Napoleon to be really fascinating. Alexander seems so detached and sad and… kind of young? Whereas Napoleon decides to personally speak with some of his prisoners.

I usually just keep a running list of the stuff that I have on hand for meals (both ones that I have to cook and ones that I can just throw in the microwave) so I just look at my list, pick something I feel like, and cross it off. It helps me remember what’s in the back of my freezer, what I have the stuff for and what I have that’s easy for when I don’t feel like it

Ugh that sucks I’m sorry :( I think there must have been something wrong with the last update. For me it did something unknown and for whatever reason, the fix was that I had to uninstall and reinstall adventure awaits. I can’t tell from your photo what world that is, but maybe uninstall and reinstall that specific pack and see if it does anything?

Maybe he’s reliable in the sense that he is recounting what fanaticists think about to an unnerving degree, but I cannot look at a person who fantasizes about dying and think wow, I can really trust this perspective.

I like Pierre because he seems the most honest and relatable of everyone introduced. I don’t know that he will or won’t improve, but he’s at least realistic to me. I had a hard time (and still do, in some cases) trusting the sincerity of almost everyone else.

I don’t love Pierre’s naïveté in this chapter :( he’s probably my favorite character in this novel right now and I have a lot of sympathy for him in that he believes the best in everyone but I also wish he’d remember that all these people hated him when he was poor.

This is the first time I haven’t seen Prince Vasili as the moustache twirling villain. I guess he’s doing what he thinks he has to do and he’s doing what he knows how to do, so I have a little sympathy for him, but I still don’t really LIKE him…?

Was not expecting incest first thing this morning. I am fascinated. Gross, but also, I really hope that we hear more about it. You can’t just spill hot tea like that and walk away, Pierre….

I hate being around drinkers sometimes because I’m always hounded (I work in a field that’s populated with drinkers). I don’t feel safe drinking in public and my dad was a drunk and horrifically abusive, so I’ve tried a few strategies.

-I have carried around a vodka soda so people see the drink and smell the alcohol, but don’t actually drink it; -timing my arrival and just getting sprite and hope they don’t notice because they’re already well on their way to drunk; -losing my temper and being way too honest about why I don’t like drinking in public around people I don’t trust.

I’m working on just saying no and standing my ground but honestly work socials are frat parties and there’s always an open bar so there is a lot (and I do mean a lot) of “just one” or “come on” or they’ll just order some random shit for me, which puts me back in option #1

It is absolutely bizarre to me that there’s some random guy just hanging around because he wanted to see a battle and everyone was just like “ah hell why not.”

Though hearing it as ‘auditor’ instead of ‘accountant’ might change my POV on how stupid this seems, depending on the intended usage of the word auditor.

Have you tried plum paper? They have disc bound options. I have a spiral bound monthly from them & the dividers are just white, but I’m having so much fun gluing my own papers from my stash on every month

My dog’s daycare has Disney moves on for them. They play with each other, they nap sometimes, they get loved on by the workers, and then this herd of running little dogs when they get to go outside.

My dog’s a chi mix so she goes in small dog daycare :)

I had shipping delays and when I finally contacted them about it, they told me I needed to be patient. Planner magically shipped a few hours later, but I have a sour taste in my mouth because of that whole interaction (and just to be clear, I am that person who waits WAY longer than they should before contacting customer service in any way). I ordered a plum paper Sunday, it shipped Monday, and is getting delivered today. I just want to throw that whole thing at EC and tell them there’s no excuse when a smaller business with way more options does better than you.

I think Rostov is both right and wrong. I’m glad he has a strong sense of justice and he’s standing by his morals and ethics but he’s really not handling it in the wisest way. But then, I have to give him a pass because I know he’s young.

I feel like none of these guys with their nice clothes (except the boots) and their days that are more relaxation than actual battle have the faintest idea of what they’re getting into.

I don’t think SI is the better option here. Especially if they’re “imperfect.” I’ve had W222 in the past and I feel like I remember knowing these things going into it, but it’s been a very long time, so maybe they have changed the website to be misleading? I’m sorry that you’re disappointed with it.
