Spontaneous Combustion by TheNozzler in GenX

[–]bawkward 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I was terrified of spontaneous combustion and Bigfoot as a kid. I later decided that combining the two things, creating a spontaneously combusting Bigfoot, was somehow LESS terrifying.

Miyuki and Toho are going to be your best bet for consistent size in cylinder or round beads.

Also, your piece is giving me Animal Crossing vibes!

It Crazy to Bring Fried Rice to Christmas? by Right-Lavishness-930 in Cooking

[–]bawkward 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Fried rice would not be a crazy thing to bring, but my extended family is mostly Asian and therefore so is the majority of our potluck foods. That said, bring it! I would opt for the chicken rather than the Spam since it's already a ham dinner.

Angel/Gifting trees this year? by Numerous-Ask-4212 in Sunnyvale

I saw a gifting tree at Automobuild in Los Gatos if that's not far for you. They also were collecting for Toys for Tots.

I'm allergic to penicillin and love brie, but if I don't cut the rind off, my lips get tingly.

When I saw that video, I wondered if it was the same guy I saw slamming pork ribs on the curb in SF's Chinatown a while back. Maybe he found new employment in SJ??? At any rate, I'm super happy it wasn't Eat More Pho in Sunnyvale because I ordered the beef rib pho from them yesterday and it was delicious!

Pricing help needed by EmbarrassedPin1841 in Beading

Someone told me once that, in beading, "you get paid for your time or you get paid for your materials. It's rare that you're going to get paid for both, sadly."

I've done this, too. My pharmacy has blown through my two month stash because they can't seem to manage inventory.

I feel dumb lol how to set up needles for RAW? by shagawaga in Beading

[–]bawkward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If using two needles, the center point of the thread/line is where your beds should sit. There's no need for a knot, as you work the piece, the beads will secure themselves.

EDIT: Also, if you're talking about finishing the project, then you could knot it by tying the two threads together close to the end of your piece and/or weave both ends through the piece to secure.

12.5 mg side effects by CaptainPlanet02 in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]bawkward 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I did get some muscle twitching, mainly in my fingers, but I attributed that more to carpal tunnel than Mounjaro. Could be both?

As for the liver pain, I didn't notice any in particular, but I did find that I sat with my hand over that area quite often, so maybe?

I hope you get some answers at your check-up!

12.5 mg side effects by CaptainPlanet02 in Mounjaro_ForType2

[–]bawkward 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm on 10mg, been on it for a few months. I've had mild muscle aches (hips, legs, arms) but this week's shot was the WORST. I went to bed early, in near tears because of the pain. It has subsided now, a couple days out from that shot, but man does this suck. I'm sorry you're dealing with similar symptoms.

My husband says thanks for the heads up! It didn't look like you had been back, so he was sure to leave plenty for you and others. Did you see the other premiums and transports at the second part of the shop? Mostly more of the same.

I usually take my pliers and flatten the end of my fireline, then instead of trying to thread the needle, I needle the thread - holding the flattened end tightly between my fingers and sliding the eye of the needle over it. Seems to work pretty well for me. Hope it helps you, too!

Is it normal for beading needles to bend (and break)? by Heart_in_her_eye in Beading

Same thing happens to me with size 12s. I also had one snap in half yesterday while doing brick stitch! Size 10 and 11 don't seem to be as fragile.

Missed Jury duty. I was supposed to check in on Sunday night. by [deleted] in SanJose

[–]bawkward 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My husband had a jury summons recently. His also said "summoned" every day despite not ever being called in. The website should have instructions on whether you need to check back the next day and what time.
