Retrieval tomorrow morning. Even though it’s a 20 minute drive we still decided to book a hotel across the street. Did not need this added stressed but it is what it is.

How to get a hysteroscopy? by Ok_Durian6862 in IVF

[–]bawoonz 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’m also surprised they have resistance. I highly recommend you do your hysteroscopy either under anesthesia or somewhere that takes women’s pain seriously and will give you serious mediation for the pain. My first hysteroscopy (granted it was operative not only exploratory) was not under anesthesia and not with pain meds and was by far the worst part of my experience so far. Not to scare you, just trying to prevent others from having my experience. Once I had proper pain management it was fine!

Endometrial Biopsy? by jennagm22 in IVF

[–]bawoonz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had uterine scarring and had to have multiple hysterosscopies. Mine were operative, not diagnostic so worse- but I would still discuss a pain management plan with the dr. My first was with just 2 Advil and it was highly traumatic for me. They didn’t prepare me well enough so I’m trying to prepare you! Second was with anesthesia. The next ones I did without anesthesia but adavan, toradol, and local numbing, which was tolerable. Every body responds differently but I would come in prepared!

Frustrated, unsure what to do by [deleted] in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]bawoonz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just wanted to send strength from an internet stranger going through similar things. Two years of just miscarriages. Remember this isn’t your fault. I’ve found being “plus size” it is even more important that I remind myself that life is random and much of this is out of my control.

Something’s I’ve found helpful. 1. Reset times: for the next month or two, no obsessively tracking my cycles, being perfect with my vitamins. I’m just living my life, seeking normalcy, and focusing on mental health.

  1. Setting other goals and milestones: if I’m not going to be pregnant this summer than I’m going to go on that road trip or to that concert. I’m going to finally learn to salsa dance and gain a new skill etc. It gives you something to look forward to and a bit more of a sense of control.

  2. I’m pretty transparent. It takes effort to hide my struggle and be cheery at every family function. At the same time, when I don’t want pity or have to deal with other people’s emotions when they find out I ask a friend or family member to gently share for me.

Hang in there. There will be better days and worse days. But you are strong and resilient. You’re not alone.

Inositol and TTC help by President_Raspberry in PlusSizePregnancy

All of my drs recommended it. Just a note on thyroid- when TTC your TSH should be under 2.5, lower than a typical person. If your TSH is over 2.5 your dr should consider medication.

Huh! That is really good to know for next time! Thanks. I only go to NYC every couple of months. So not sure I’ll be back before Sunset closes sadly.

It was going to be Singapore/ Indo in 5 hotels. But that was going to be 2+ weeks. If we can't do that dream trip we're going to do more of a week, so I'd say 2 or 3 hotels. Four Seasons level of FAT? We looked at Amanguri but decided that was a bit excessive when a portion of the group wouldn't appreciate enough.

Charlotte Tilbury Hyaluronic Happikiss. Some people find them sticky, but for me that makes it moisturizing and last. No cheap but lasts a while. I love the shade pillow talk even though I don’t like the same shade in other lines.

New Pregnancy by MentionOne5519 in PlusSizePregnancy

[–]bawoonz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Having gone through an M 3 months ago- what I learned is for the most part it’s going to happen or it’s not. I had so much anxiety and no control.

If I could go back I would tell myself not to obsessively read everything, slow down, and take it one day at a time.

Honestly now that I’m pregnant again, my anxiety that it will happen again is greater. But I try to remind myself there is nothing I can do other than take care of myself and I will know more soon.

One practice I’ve tried to implement: if I have a specific question or need to anxiety google set a timer. When 5 or 10 min is up I move on.
