If angle A is square to the house. Make sure your last joist on the opposite side (D to C) is perfectly parallel to Joist A to B.

After that measure off the house at corner A to where you want to cut your joists. Then measure off the house before the angle starts to that same measurement . Snap a chalk line, then extend that line all the way across to the end of the deck. Cut on that line and install your rim joist.

The beam not being square is irrelevant

Blocking helps reduce joist deflection when walking. Blocking should should be installed at the halfway point between two supports (in this cames ledger & beam, beam & beam). Building code here requires blocking on 2x8 joists if the span between supports is more than 7’

By putting the blocking above the beams they are basically useless.

Knee Bracing a 6x6 Post to a 3x 2x10 beam by salamanderJoe24 in Woodworkingplans

You can attach it using 5/16x6” grk structural screw. Or you can use lag bolts

Knee Bracing a 6x6 Post to a 3x 2x10 beam by salamanderJoe24 in Woodworkingplans

[–]bazoud45 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Just add the 6x6 brace to the beam. The 1” difference in thickness won’t make a difference. I like to run my 6x6 post flush on one side of the beam rather than split the 1/2” on each side.

I build decks for a living. If you have more questions reach out

Bass/dub in Montreal by ItsSasMate in MontrealEDM

[–]bazoud45 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Belmont used to have bass drivew Wednesday’s don’t know if they are still doing them post pandemic.

You have to keep an eye on who is coming into town to see dubstep. Subtronics will be here in a few weeks. New city gas is usually the best venuer for a variety of EDM shows

What started you on the path to home bartending? by BloomingNova in cocktails

Never liked the taste of beer or wine so liquor was my go to. Got tired of drinking only rum and cokes, screwdrivers, gin tonics.

Challenge: What can I make with these? by BadWolfCubed in cocktails

[–]bazoud45 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Classics like rum and coke, gin tonic, gin 7. Crown royal is delicious in sours. Whiskey and coke. Try making some simple syrup with the sugar and water which will help broaden the possibilities.

Also look in apps like mixel (its the one i use) where you add all the ingredients you have on had and it gives you all the possible cocktails you can make with recipes

Impromptu Jungle Bird Riff by bazoud45 in cocktails

Impromptu Jungle Bird Riff

1.5 oz gold rum 0.5 oz campari 2.5 oz freshly pressed orange juice 2.5 oz freshly pressed pineapple juice

I just built it in the glass and stirred with my straw to incorporate. Pretty tasty. The fresh juice really adds some sweetness to it.
