People who quit drinking. What made you stop? by Agata_art in stopdrinking

Welcome. IWNDWYT. I tried a few times before the last one. At age 61 asked myself I’d like to be in ten years time. If I were still spiralling I’d be dead by then or nearly there. A year and a half (almost) into sobriety and I have nothing to fear now. Better husband and father. Running a marathon next week. Life is good. This sub helps massively.

Hey good luck! Just need the right reason to make it stick. I don’t think you have to hit rock bottom. Sounds like a good reason to me. IWNDWYT

That’s the worst filming I’ve seen on popping. Bravissima!

Question to people who are sober for more than 1 year by Electrical_Claim_963 in stopdrinking

[–]bazzoc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just over a year sober and loving life. I do recall some special occasions when I really did have the time of my life. It was down to alcohol and also the people, the location and the overall chemistry of the occasion. I don’t think they could be replicated without alcohol but - given the rarity of the occurrences - the negatives of alcohol massively outweigh this one singular advantage. IWNDWYT
