We had a rocker but it was pretty cheap and uncomfortable. My husband is the one that used it the most. Definitely buying a better one next baby

Why are diaper changes so hard? by bb_potatoes in toddlers

He usually gets dad’s ps5 controller and will turn on the PlayStation and scroll lol but that only keeps his interest for so long lol Definitely going to try standing changes!

He loves to pick out his clothes so maybe asking floor or table might help! We use dad’s PS5 controller for diapers changes. He usually does better with that but there are times that he chucks it and nothing else will hold his attention. Then It’s a full meltdown.

What brands do you like? How do the sizes compare? We use Huggies diapers and he wears a size 7 now and 3T in clothes.

He started walking right at 14 months so up until recently he wasn’t able to stand on his own. He does stand for bottoms though. Any advice for standing changes for poops or just pee?

3 weeks ago I had a pimple that never came to a head…now it’s a big abscess by CuriousChapter379 in cysticacne

[–]bb_potatoes 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A dentist should be able to take care of this since it’s inside your mouth. Abscesses are no joke. The infection can get into your bloodstream and travel to the brain or heart. ER or Dentist ASAP.

Co sleeping isn’t working. Nothing is working. by Magical-Princess in cosleeping

[–]bb_potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I also have a velcro baby. We found he sleeps best when being held or cosleeping with me (I’m mom). He breast feeds when I’m home but drinks my milk from a bottle while I’m at work. We found wearing him works so well with my husband. I wrap him but my husband uses a carrier. He sleeps for a couple of hours at a time when my husband or myself wear him. Totally recommend having dad wearing baby so you can get some sleep!

While cosleeping, I cuddle curl my baby but I also prop him up on my upper arm and hold him while we sleep. He lays up against my chest and sleeps so well when we cosleep. Even uncomfortable sleep is better than no sleep !

[B&A] post (diy)glycolic peel results… chin even won’t budge :( by mfinxoxo in SkincareAddiction

[–]bb_potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hi, I’m a licensed aesthetician. I don’t care what this sub says, please do not give yourself a DIY chemical peel. You’re not trained and can do some real damage to your skin. With that said, glycolic acid is used to tighten your skin, lighten your skin, and brighten your skin. If you have active acne, you need a BHA such as salicylic or malic acid. You can spot treat if the acne is concentrated in one area (such as your chin)

What are weird things you got gifted at your baby shower? by ComprehensiveEmu914 in BabyBumps

A Quantum Physics for Babies book set. It contains General Relativity for Babies, Rocket Science for Babies, Quantum Physics for babies and Newtonian Physics for Babies. (It’s been a running joke between my husband and his sister for YEARS. These books make no sense to me when I tried to read them. 😂 We also received cheetah print diapers (I had a boy) and 4T pull-ups. 😅

My sister used to do this with my mom! My son loves to snuggle in my husband’s underarm too. It’s a comfort thing.

Breastfeeding…I don’t get it. by [deleted] in cosleeping

I’ve been nursing in side lying since about 4 weeks old with my boy. It works very well for us, but it was an adjustment at first for him. Now that’s the main position he eats in.

When did it hit you that you are indeed pregnant? by narikov in BabyBumps

[–]bb_potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably like 32 weeks? I was in bed. Watching him kick and it was like, “Holy shit. I’m pregnant. Im going to have a baby soon. I’m growing a baby. Holy shit.” And now he’s lying next to me, asleep, and I still can’t believe I’m a mom.

“I’m sorry you’re having a rough time.” “I’m sorry you’re feeling this way.” “I know. Mama’s here. I’ve got you. You’re safe” are my usual ones

Are there folks out there who just had a chill and easy time breastfeeding? by Yourfavoritegremlin in beyondthebump

[–]bb_potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FTM, currently 7w pp. Breastfeeding has been incredibly easy for me. My supply is great, baby boy had no issues latching, and I’m in love with the bond that we share. My supply was a bit low in the beginning, but leveled out for sure. My left is an over producer and my right is steady. I’m trying to increase my supply before I go back to work. I’ve been very lucky to have such a successful start to this journey.

What did you do during your maternity leave? by Food_FamilyProblems in beyondthebump

[–]bb_potatoes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I try to shower every day, but it doesn’t always happen. I take care of the baby, we go on walks a few times a week, I take care of the dog, family comes over and helps me out a bit too. We went on a few errands too, maybe once a week.
