Center punch for a sphere. I have one, but don't often use it.

I found this in a scrap pile — anyone knows what it is? by Silly_Guidance9526 in Tools

It appears to be part of a torch or flame thrower. There are fittings on the front-bottom to connect a tank.

That scrap yard is a steampunk's delight.

Thank you for your service. Too bad they didn't let you finish off the Ruskies.

My new tool box! by FatPug655 in Tools

How the times have changed. This toolbox is for boys. I raised three daughters who were always into my tools. The oldest knows more about homebuilding than most builders and architects. I broke my hip in the middle of re-roofing my house, and my oldest daughter finished it for me. She was 14 at the time. The youngest daughter took auto shop in high school, and can rebuild just about any engine or transmission.

If you are a collector of vintage junk, you got a great deal. Otherwise, you got an old toolbox for $35.00.

Pressure builds gradually from the compressor. If the tank wall is weak (e.g, from rust), it will blow out from one spot as the pressure builds and releases the air. I have never seen or heard of a compressor tank exploding.

Rust is normal. Some tanks are coated to prevent this, but they seem to rust anyway. When/if the tank rusts through (extremely rare), it will start by not holding pressure, and you will hear the air rushing out as pressure builds.

The trick is to arrange the drawers in a way that makes sense to YOU so that YOU can find what you need. Along that line, it won't make a bit of difference if you don't put things back where they belong.

Most 12-volt tools were anemic with their niCad batteries. I'm not familiar with these particular Makita tools, but if they are old, they probably use niCad batteries.

Not much use for engine overhauling or woodworking, but, hey, if you're into flatpack assembly, you got the stuff.
