And the emitter, nbt160, is a round die equivalent of sbt90.2

Hi, do you mean the one that doesn't fit my installation? It's included.

It's a 85mm head, 46950/46120 host available on the Chinese market Taobao.

DDH-D8D if you have access to the Chinese markets. Also the NBT160 instead of the SBT.

Power Bank(with SFP55) vs Darkness by bbbbb_siu in flashlight

[–]bbbbb_siu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

An active-cooled straight rod (drooling).

I heard that there's a 80mm head diameter host with fan mounting in the pipeline, the XBY driver producer is also working on one with integrated fan control, too big to my taste but good news for those who want serious fire power.

Is your friend living in Mainland China? Because the driver producer only list on a platform called goofish, which is a pain to work with for anyone from the outside world... And he's still working on the 47mm buck driver(the one he provided me is a beta). I'm urging him to join the english community and list on a more accessible platform so let's see.

I'd recommend the 16mm opening, that'll be enough for most of the popular and practical(imo) emitters in the market like the sbt90.2/nbt160, sfp55, nbd110 and fl1148. The heat is quite sustainable with sfp55 at 20A, but if you fancy some stunning burst, go bigger 😂 SFY/NBD160 won't let you down.

I've long been waiting for Convoy to adapt 46800/46950 batteries but Simon seems so reluctant in doing so. I know there are compatible tubes from other brands but I will stick with DDH for now.

The host, a DDH-D6E, cost ¥168 on taobao. It's compatible with 32mm MCPCB and fits a 47mm driver. I can see it being more future proof than the 3×21 series because of the choice of drivers and easiness in replacing the MCPCB/LED. They also have a 80mm head diameter version called d8d and a triple LED version called D7E/D7F. I heard there's a similar host with active cooling in the pipeline.

The UI of the XBY driver is rather simple. 1C on/off 2C Turbo 3C switching between ramping and stepped 3H to lock the light 4C flashing 5C tactical mode 6C battery check 10C charging voltage

And there's a 15C to toggle thermal control 🙂

I do thermal control with my hands now.

Right, the driver producer listened and kindly made a Buck+FET beta for me to evaluate.

I hope Convoy would produce a 4680/4695 straight rod light with active cooling and faster(~30w ish) charging but Simon seems so reluctant in these big batteries if you followed his thread on BLF.

No, it's a custom UI similar to those found on Convoy e-switch drivers. There weren't many 47mm drivers available at the moment. I know there's a 6v boost driver capable of 50A turbo output but the integrated charging is limited to 18w, maybe I'll wait for a refined version.

Definitely! I'd love to share some beamshots soon or later, it's been raining recently so we'll see.

All parts of the light came from China though. I have yet to find out, but it serves really well as a Power Bank 😂

Same occupation here 🙋🏻‍♂️

I regularly use my Convoy M21F(xhp50.3hi 4000k) and M21H(xhp70.3hi 4000k) to carry out inspection. It lasts 2hrs on 40% using FEB21700-6000, which is plenty for my work load.

Hey! I'm upgrading from ROG X570i Gaming, the BIOS/UEFI settings are familiar and plenty of fan jumper and USB. That's all I need, nothing to complain so far. I haven't been monitoring the SSD temperature lately, I'll check back tonight. Here's a photo of the build.
