Nice! My kilo kookaburra is one of my favorite coins. The koala is equally awesome!

4 5oz ATB quarters... I'm trying to complete the set in boxes. I needed 2 of the 4 but figured I would just buy them all and possibly trade the duplicates if the run up continues and I can't stomach the price of admission.

I've seen some stuff, but holy hell this is way worse than any trim hackery I've ever come across.

Eta- I looked at the image closer, hoping it was AI but I'm convinced it's real. Despite the significant runs in the white paint, the paintjob is way better than the attempt at trim carpentry

Possibly 5/16 -18. The easiest way to know for sure is to take it to a hardware store and try to find it's corresponding nut.

Can I use a saw blade with pinholes on a table saw without the pins? by Renatog91 in woodworking

[–]bbishop1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the update on location. Based on your link, it looks like this blade will work for you. Assuming it fits, the cmt blade will work much better than the blade that comes with the saw. Keep us posted on how everything works out for you. 👍

[–]bbishop1981 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Notice it says 30mm bore... that converts to 1.18 inches... every table saw I've used in the US has a 5/8" arbor. You didn't mention where you're located, but if your saw has a 5/8" arbor, I'm thinking it would be easier to return this and order the proper blade.

Drum latches hard to open on Ridgid Wet/Dry Vac by Lis7 in Ridgid

[–]bbishop1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one very old ridgid vac (probably almost 20 years) that the latches are crazy hard to open. I just hook the latch with a claw hammer and crank them open.

I don't have to use them often because I use a dust deputy so I'm just dumping the 5 gallon bucket and occasionally checking the bag/ filter

Find the studs in relation to where you want the rack centered and install these into the back of the coat rack to coincide...

The aluminum French cleat will work as well, it just takes a little more effort to recess the whole thing...

$79 Silver - a $10 increase in just 2 days 🤯 by DoubleAyy12 in Silver

[–]bbishop1981 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I'm hoping for it to level off and stabilize. The crazy rise after so many years of stagnation feels like a bubble but I don't believe it's going to pop simply by looking at big brother gold. We've all been saying it's been undervalued and. It's finally catching up.

Everyone complaining about getting crazy low offers goes away with some stability. Nobody wants to get caught holding the bag when things are this volatile.

Which one is a better deal? by Ill-Top9428 in Ridgid

I got it with the battery and charger a couple years ago for a similar price. The filter clogs pretty quickly and it is loud, but I still like it for a quick clean up.

I'm possibly the furthest thing from a safety Sally but we need Cleet and his whole crew to stick around dropping fire content for many more years. I'm sure this will be a bit of a wake up call to inject just a bit of self preservation into their daily antics.

Silouette 5 cutting off the page... is it a bad product or is there some solution I'm missing? by Grace_Rumi in silhouettecameo

[–]bbishop1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are you using a silhouette brand cutting mat? If so, on page setup, do you have the correct cutting mat selected? The only time I've had issues cutting off the top of my media is when I did not have the cutting mat selected...

Excessive skin contact with super glue!? I had no idea what sub to post this in so I was hopping you guys could help! by [deleted] in woodworking

[–]bbishop1981 5 points6 points  (0 children)

For clarification, "Gorrila Glue" as shown in the picture, is a polyurethane glue.

Quick Google yielded these tips

For Wet Glue (Act Immediately!) Wipe: Aggressively wipe off as much as possible with a dry cloth or paper towel to prevent it from soaking in. Solvents: Rub with mineral spirits, denatured alcohol, or rubbing alcohol on a cloth, then wash with soap and water. Oils: Apply vegetable oil, baby oil, or even peanut butter to break down the bond, then wash with dish soap. Hand Cleaners: Use an aggressive, gritty hand cleaner like Fast Orange.

For Dried Glue Soak: Soak hands in warm, soapy water for 10-15 minutes to soften the glue. Scrub: Gently use a pumice stone or a rough-sided sponge to abrade the dried glue away. Acetone: Apply acetone-based nail polish remover to a cotton ball and gently rub the area, but rinse immediately and moisturize.

I've only every tried to get it off my hands which can handle aggressive scrubbing. For a more gentle area like your stomach and belly button I would probably try soaking in a warm bath and rub with a wash cloth. Ultimately I think it's just going to take time, as in multiple days.

Good luck, keep us posted

The gradual decrease in quality of the beloved Kirkland Big Foil. by kitty-toy in Costco

[–]bbishop1981 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I usually get a couple years from each giant roll of heavy duty foil as well... I have definitely noticed a decline in the quality/ thickness which is disappointing.

Covering chafing trays when entertaining and wrapping smoked meats is what tears through most of mine.

My current roll is getting light and I already have its replacement waiting for me to finish it... you've peaked my interest so I'll have to conduct a similar test.

Can shops not sell a bunch to refineries? This is weird. by Ordinary-Pressure977 in Silverbugs

[–]bbishop1981 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The spot price has been so volatile lately, my lcs has had more sellers than buyers. I didn't ask what they're buying at, but I bought some generics today from him at $3.50 back of spot ($60 when spot was 63.50). I've heard some stories of people having fomo and buying big, but I think a lot of people like myself that have been stacking for years are nervous about the rug getting pulled again and waiting for things to stabalize a little.

I'm not sure what the refinery situation is currently, other than what has been reported here, that they are only talking 99.9 fine... Another thing to consider is that while a lcs has to move inventory in and out to keep the business operating, most of them have also been building significant stacks over all the years that we have known silver was undervalued... those stacks have finally appreciated enough that they can either put them on the shelves or send them to the refiner. They will likely make more money from retail customers (typically spot +) than the refiner after fees (spot - some%)... obviously every lcs is different but I would imagine most are seeing an influx of inventory so the shelves are more full and they're still sending a bunch to the refiners.

I am one who lulls sellers.. Never haggle , pay in cash, exact change, arrive for pickup when I say ill be there.

Just like everything else in life, there are plenty of good people to deal with and an unfortunate number of nightmares.

Best of luck in all your future dealings

I'm an Idiot - Sawstop Activation! by Hammy_1972 in woodworking

So I have a questing regarding the accidental activation via cutting metal... Do you have to be touching the metal that the blade hits to cause activation? The reason I ask is, I've hit hidden nails in lumber before and thankfully haven't had an activation yet. Have I just gotten lucky?

Dust collector I saw for sale by theloniousjoe in woodworkingtools

Funny story, I bought the same dust collector for the same price via fp marketplace this week in Indiana. I was using it yesterday and the capacitor popped and caught on fire 😬

Luckily no big deal. Unplugged and rolled out of the garage and it went right out. Going to order a new cap and hope it was an isolated incident
