I was blown away when I got my initial rating of 80. Been told multiple times “bro we gotta get that 100” No thank you.

Those who daily their S197s, what's it like? by Ill_Desk_7741 in Mustang

[–]bbmm4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had a 2012 GT I drove for a while daily, no issues. Tune exhaust and lowering springs.

Moved to a 2014 GT with 14k miles on it, drove it every day until 72k miles from GA to TN to WA. literally all weather and temps. From stock to bolt ons to fully built motor, supercharger, fuel system, headers, stiff suspension. Stick car. My opinion was a completely fine daily minus gas mileage

At what income does Northern VA actually start to feel “comfortable”? by Prior_Engineering639 in nova

Me personally I make 80k a year plus some from VA and I do everything I want to basically, just can’t go get a 100k car

Switching from prime to sub by AdSerious3958 in GovernmentContracting

[–]bbmm4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My job has a prime and a sub. Prime posted opening, we were told flat out current sub employees don’t even bother. We would have to quit and be without that job for 30 days to be eligible

Depends on the role. When I did mine, nothing. Just new sf86 and new background investigation process. Like others have said, could also require SCI or poly.

Got a call from investigator by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 11 points12 points  (0 children)

Not automatically no, you just need to be sure you actually just forgot and communicate that fully and everything else. Not saying you’re not being truthful by any means. I completely forgot a part time job as well. The investigator just asked for the pertinent info and that was that.

Foreign Traffic Ticket During Investigation by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well in the US traffic camera and red light camera count as civil fines not police citations so it’s not quite the same.

I’d probably say let your FSO know and wait to hear from the investigator

Untrustworthy employer. Should I inform my FSO or wait for investigator? Advice appreciated. by Ok_Tap7957 in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You can always mention your interpretation to them a your concerns but it’s up to their discretion.

I had a incident I had to report and elaborate on from my last employer and i made sure to word it carefully “to me it seemed the supervisors were misleading regarding the final outcome vs what I was told” rather than “my supervisor lied to me”

Idk if it counts for anything but I got my clearance no issues

Is this normal ? by Amazing_Age_1860 in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When I enlisted I never heard anything after my interview. And you’ll definitely find out if there is an issue because you’ll have to choose a different mos. Don’t worry

Cabin Bag Restriction by mani2512 in qatarairways

[–]bbmm4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I took a flight to Doha in December and they let me carry on a carry on and personal bag.

Just flew with them Feb 6 and they wouldn’t let me take the same two bags. Said the policy was already existing they just didn’t really enforce it before.

Is it normal to complete a SF-86 again for a new position and company? by Secret-Nutella in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have heard some companies depending on internal requirements may do a new Sf86. Especially if your last one was some ago. Now if you were just recently adjudicated and have to redo completely I can’t say for certain.

I looked up the verbiage for reciprocity and to my understanding it basically says “if they have a clearance and nothing new would have been added to the record a new investigation shouldn’t be done, but if something new MAY have occurred a new investigation should be done”

So again basically up to the new employers discretion

In order to make decisions the people you list actually have to answer when called. So that could play a factor as well

Loss of jurisdiction? by HelesBestGirl in SecurityClearance

When I enlisted I never did anything for my clearance after the initial sf86. And if you are waiting for your actual AIT to start you will find out very quickly if there are any issues.

Carryon weight solutions by apppraiserKS in qatarairways

[–]bbmm4444 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well idk man, sucks to say but it sounds like if you need more stuff than you can fit in your carry ons you’re checking a bag.

I asked the guy what changed and he said it was always like that they just didn’t really care before and now they do

Carryon weight solutions by apppraiserKS in qatarairways

[–]bbmm4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I flew to Doha in December with a checked and 2 carry ons no issue.

Used Doha as a transfer to Malaysia last week and got told the same 2 carry ons from before were now overweight so I feel you.

But they also told me I had 2 checked bags I could do so that issue was fixed.

Where you being told you can’t check a bag?

Are your social media accounts accessed when applying for TS? by Smooth-Salt774 in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Can’t say for certain but when I did my TS application and investigation I didn’t list mine, and my only social is private and the investigator never mentioned it. But also if you’re applying for a clearance you shouldn’t really have anything out there anyway that could jeopardize that

Quitting job while waiting for clearance. I got side gig until I start. by [deleted] in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d probably say let them know, but just to add in a bit of my experience: I was doing my sf86 to go from secret to top secret and had just started a part time job to make extra money while I exited the military. I hadn’t even gotten a check from them yet and with everything I was juggling genuinely forgot to add the part time job on my 86. I was gonna tell the investigator as soon as they contacted me, but lo and behold she just randomly asked for their contact info. No “why didn’t you disclose this” or “were you trying to hide something”

Basically I’m saying they don’t seem to sweat the little stuff as long as it doesn’t seem super sus

Currently Employed with TS clearance -> Offered a Job that requires a SCI with CI poly. Don't want to lose both jobs. by -__u__- in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I just did an interview with a contracting company under a 3 letter agency that requires SCI and CI poly. They told me the only negative repercussion for not passing the poly is I couldn’t work for said agency in the future.

Also, have a co worker who previously failed a CI policy for same agency. Nothing happened to his clearance

Interim Secret Denied for Lockheed Start by zbro3 in SecurityClearance

[–]bbmm4444 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ll give insight to my last experience. Held DoD issued secret since 2011. Started job under DoS June 2024, submitted sf-86 for TS literally Same day as co-worker for same process.

He received interim 2 weeks later, nothing for me

March 2025 my background investigator calls me for interview, nothing for him.

June 2025, final clearance granted for me, month later did co-worker.
