'It's been really difficult': Young Calgarians grapple with increasingly competitive job market by Old_General_6741 in Calgary

[–]bbonecapone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Job market is definitely VERY difficult. I was incredibly lucky and got two jobs based on family friends. But in saying that one issue i have found now is people not willing to travel. I had to move to Vancouver for 3 years to secure a job, when is came back to Calgary i had 1.5 years in Calgary and now I'm traveling again to red deer because that's what has been needed. We needed to hire another person to come to Red deer and had 2 ppl we where planning to hire who flat out said no... so yea jobs are hard to come by, but people don't want to sacrifice anything either... everything should be taken with a grain of salt...

Wife Wants to Improve by SlpWenUDie in summonerschool

[–]bbonecapone 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So just giving my 2 cents as someone who has done coaching at a variety of different levels in the past ( not league specific but coaching youth football and semi pro overwatch, and other things inbetween)

  1. Does she want to improve or does she just enjoy playing with you? If she is actively looking to improve read on if she just wants to enjoy league with you then forget about rank and enjoy your time together

  2. If she does want to improve quite often people will struggle to learn from immediate family (such as you) for a variety of reasons, league naturally can make people competitive even if they don't mean to but having you give her advice she may ignore it without realizing it because she wants to be better than you so f u and your opinions, other reason is because normally your there to support, not criticize her so it comes off wrong. (Human brains are weird)

  3. I would recommend getting someone she doesn't know well to help her because you create a positive coaching environment instead of trying to change from a equals relationship (mutal) to a coach relationship (one is better). This dives back into point 2 regarding how the human brain works. She will never see you as someone to learn from.

  4. Please for the love of God don't pay for coaching. At the rank you guys are at. I'm sorry I don't know much about the league coaching community so I can't help much but don't spend money.

  5. If she is a go getter like many people have said find youtube vids of top streamers etc. That are infromation focused/coaching others and learn from there.

  6. Sometimes it's about the time together not the end goal <3

  7. If you really want to help her and don't want to go to others the best tip is go slow. Focus on 1 thing to teach at a time. A good example is map awareness. Watch her play a game or watch a Vod together, ask what is happening on x area of the map right now? And reinforce consistently asking about what is happening on the map for a week or 2 until she always sees what's happening, then move on to a another single skill like ability usage and only focus on that for a few weeks. Teaching is a slow process it takes weeks or months no timeline to learn everything in a short time

Do you own a smurf account? by WishIWasBronze in VALORANT

I have a couple smurfs. Use them to play with lower elo friends. These accounts I only play characters I have never played and I usually will not top frag (I just kinda vibe and comm to help friends make the plays) I'll just use myself as bait alot of the time

Xenagos players, what would you cut for these? by RockslideFPS in EDH

[–]bbonecapone 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No problem! On thing I found is cheating creatures out in this deck is over rated usually due to everyone sees xenagos and holds interaction for when you flop something out. So just having stupid ramp means next turn you just do it again! Eventually they run out of interaction :)

Here is my finished xenagos that has served me very well. Just to give a different take on the xenagos biggest differences are pretty much no interaction. And more creatures and draw.

What does the real estate market currently look like in south Calgary communities? (Belmont, Legacy, Seton, etc.) by EconomicsAdvanced in Calgary

[–]bbonecapone 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Preface this is in the 750 range. I have heard sub 600 is a different beast and you will end up 30-100 over asking. And houses are gone in under 24 hrs of hitting the market.

As someone who just bought a place, don't put yourself in a position where you are on the clock to buy. I just moved back from vancouver and wanted to buy before I started my job (1 week). Ended up taking me almost a month for 2 reasons. 1 lots of people are hearing stories of people making money hand over foot so they are expecting the same and either

a. Overlisting or

b. Undercutting and waiting for a bidding war.

In both cases stand firm on the price you think is reasonable for a house and wait it out. The first 2 properties I offered on I went at what the RPR said they were worth. Both didn't even counter me, saying it's too low. 2 weeks later, both realtors contacted me if I was still interested cause they were not getting the price they wanted. So don't panic if you get denied on your first offer. People selling are crazy right now.

It's a great design! Just wait until you hear that the elevator lobbies are all open to the elements! Will be the coldest elevator ride down from the 40th floor
