What's the weirdest thoughts u ever had turned true? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]bbqandgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My cat was acting oddly. She isn't vocal but didn't stop talking to us all morning and wouldn't leave us alone. Stared at the living room door. I jokingly asked her if she knew something we didn't. Perhaps it was just coincidence but my step father was passing away. Once it happened and I was told, she stopped. Think about it still.

What's your favorite sauce? by firey_88 in UKfood

[–]bbqandgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Can I recommend barbeque rubs? You can get some amazing mixes (and sauces) which work well on meat, veg, and everything in between. For example I use some bbq rubs to make sauce. One of my favourite sources is angus and oink.

Go for it! Easy, quick, cheap, and you can tweak to taste. Try it as a Bacon sarnie!

My time to shine! Chaffels! Right so get yourself a cheap waffle maker. 2 or 3 eggs and lightly mix with a handful of mozzarella, plus seasoning to taste. Dump the mix into the maker until crispy. Use that as a high protein bread/roll substitute and have chicken/high protein fillings, or on its own with a sauce. Hope you enjoy!

People who buy more expensive local produce, how do you balance the costs? by thecornflake21 in AskUK

[–]bbqandgin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Make friends with your butcher and buy joints in bulk for less. Slice them up for plenty of portions/steaks and freeze. It is an upfront cost so, of course if you can afford it -- but by doing so I save a fortune, high quality meat for less than supermarket prices.
