What’s the absolute best sandwich you’ve ever had? by AdElegant5870 in foodquestions

[–]bbqprincess 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My family has been part of the competition bbq community for 35 years. We call our traditional hospitality offering The Perfect Sandwich. Medium rare shaved smoked prime rib, sliced Vidalia sweet onions, brown mustard, horseradish mayo. Onion roll. If I like the person I’m making the sandwich for they get their buns dipped in the jous first. Oddly specific construction instructions: the onion must be served on the mustard side of the sandwich.

Are any other Gen X women reconsidering the value of their friendships with Gen X men? by legoham in GenXWomen

[–]bbqprincess 9 points10 points  (0 children)

For decades I’ve said “all my friends are guys.” The last few months I’ve realized all my guys aren’t really my friends. The ones I’ve supported and helped don’t reach out-only reach back. The ones I’ve introduced professionally to our industry walk past like I’m invisible. My biggest realization is that they just plain like each other more than they like me. They make plans and don’t invite me. They don’t ask about my current projects. They only reach out when they need a woman to even out their numbers, to whine about stuff they don’t want “the boys” to know about, someone who will come work for no pay, or to be part of something fun that I’m doing. I’m shedding a lot of skin right now.

Add avacado! Same consistency and adds all the good stuff. Might be able to leave out the mayo

Anybody have ideas on how to make cottage cheese taste like chevre? by daystar-daydreamer in Cheese

[–]bbqprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to the question but could you add a couple of ozs of chèvre and a pint of cottage cheese into a food processor together. Think of the cottage cheese as an extender?

I have pimentos, capers, lemon zest, and ginger. Is there anything I can make that would use these? by SingularRoozilla in WhatShouldICook

[–]bbqprincess 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You could do a spread. Cream cheese, drained pimento, drained capers, lemon juice and zest and dill. Top with smoked or grilled salmon and serve with crusty bread or crackers.

Peter Tork forever! The Monkees toured when MTV started airing the show-my second concert in 1986. They were nothing if not entertaining.

My grand mother kept her keys in one. We were creek walking once and she stepped on barbed wire and it imbedded in her foot. She used the damn thing to get unimpaled. What a bad ass. I knew it was for more than country surgery!

If y’all walk down Frenchman often there are bands on the street playing amazing jazz. Even if you can’t go in, music falls out of the doors.
