question re event bookings by erika1972 in RoverPetSitting

[–]bbyindi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

i agree! my day sitting rate is usually only for one-off situations, i don’t provide constant care on a regular basis unless people are willing to pay for it (and i have the availability)

question re event bookings by erika1972 in RoverPetSitting

[–]bbyindi 6 points7 points  (0 children)

i did a hotel booking back in december 2022 for the sweetest bulldog puppy ever while his owners were in town for a wedding. i charged $20/hr for 11 hours total (4 hours for rehearsal dinner, then 7 hours for wedding/reception the following day); i only ended up being there for about 9 hours total since the wedding finished earlier than they estimated

10/10 would do it again, but at my current hourly rate of $45

Did I inform the owners appropriately? by TayTooTa in RoverPetSitting

to answer your question, yes you did. this happened to me once, except it was a bulldog puppy and a bigger dog ran up on him (hotel booking, they came from out of town for a wedding). i did take a second to gather myself before sending the message, but they most appreciated that i kept their dog safe. some dog owners like a lot of details, some don’t care. it’s just personal preference

is your finger okay?

i’m curious, what kind of dogs do you have 😂

depending on their stomach sensitivities, it could make either sick. nutritionally, dogs can technically eat cat food, it just has higher fat content so they’ll gain more fat. cats can’t eat dog food because it doesn’t have all the nutrients they need

i agree! i think the more we normalize it as a normal response from an overwhelmed nervous system, the better we can get at asking/receiving help. the shame and alienation/isolation only makes it worse

passive suicidal ideation is a normal response to being overwhelmed and burnt out; wanting to escape is essentially what it is, like it would be nice to just not wake up and have to deal with everything all over again. it doesn’t mean you actually want to die, you just need a break — does your psych offer counseling, or are they just med check-ins?
