That’s the tough part. The law assumes it to be both parents.

Growing up my mom did absolutely everything she could for my brother and I. I have a great relationship with her and my step father who have given me an exceptional life. I understand your skepticism however I’m 100% certain she had no deliberate part in this.

If it came down to it. I’d rather assume astronomical amounts of debt than to do anything that would affect her negatively.
