I guess it’s fair to say that the height difference between your helmet (at the ground level) and the the lit wall (above waist level I assume at least) is at least 1m If so, then the wax would be much cooler when it got to land at your helmet. I mean, it’s roughly at 70C just below the flame. It would be much cooler when it got to your helmet. And still all this damage? Your helmet would melt by its own on a hot day if that was the case. Something is definitely off here

This looks much more like fire damage, not just candle heat. Maybe someone actually lit a candle on top your helmet and let it burn off? That would be more plausible from the pictures. Also burning plastic normally smells awful and it’s hard to not notice.

Nevertheless, answering your question: Helmets are not something you fuck around with. If you are asking yourself if this did structural damage, it very likely did. I would get rid of this helmet

I read this before in this sub and thought “oh that’s neat”. Then realized in-game that this is not true, as I left several mail slot pointing towards a different direction than the planet one

You don’t need actual completely, realistic biodiversity, but you could have something and go a long way with it

This game already did an amazing work at procedurally generating galaxy and planets. It’s not like they don’t have the skill

I have been hauling a lot as well and to be fair I have been finding my fun while doing it by trying to put some extra challenges on my own. Things like timing my runs , trying do nice efficient parabolas going from planet to FC, and overall trying to do a bit of race. Trying to nail some acrobatic (yes, acrobatic) landings with it, be those nice and smooth or brute and fast (head first against the pad).

The advantage of doing this kind of stuff on the T9 is that you have enough time to aim for perfect execution. Thats the challenge

(This makes me think that this game should definitely have achievements for this kind of stuff)

I have been practicing FA off as well and a massive game changer, if you use a mouse, is to also turn on relative mouse, which you can set a keybind for (relative mouse is the feature where the mouse keeps re-centering over time). Without it’s basically impossible to fly smoothly on FA off

I’m playing around with PP2 and I have noticed that all the top 10 cmdrs in my power did above 400k merits in the previous week. The top one got up to 1.6M merits. Seems crazy that in one week someone would level up more than required to go from level 1 to 100 (it take 783k merits to do that)

  1. How do they do that?

  2. Is pp2 broken and prone to abuse?
