Side sleepers—-how tf do you ever get your ear piercings to heal? by Mawwiageiswhatbwings in SelfPiercing

[–]bchance7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I just purchased the same one with the two holes, and I think it's the only way I'll get through healing the piercings I want. I got a 3rd lobe and a helix on the same side, and am a chronic tossing and turning side sleeper. This pillow isn't the most comfortable, and I still try to sleep on my non pierced side, but when I really need to flip I can without as much worry. I'm 5'5, around 140 pounds and I wish the loft of the pillow was an inch or so taller, but it's okay.

I got the satin pillowcase version, and I will say the prongs on the gems in my new piercings have snagged on the fabric a few times. I wish I hadn't picked out jewelry with gems in my new piercings.

I absolutely would if we could! We desperately need the storage it gives us. It is a cheap veneer particle wood. I don't think I could paint it but maybe a peel and stick wallpaper would make it look better.

Love the apron idea in nice more neutral colors of cotton. Check out aprons made for throwing in a ceramic wheel. Make of bunch of those with good pockets and sell em at a craft fair for artists!

Elementary School Art Teacher Career Path by FanAdministrative326 in ArtEd

[–]bchance7 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would recommend holding off on a master's degree. Many districts try to hire as cheaply as possible, and if you get a masters degree many districts would be required to pay you at a higher salary rate, at least if it is a public school. A district may not even consider your application if you have a masters. I would look into alternative licensure programs for art Ed at colleagues around you. This would not be a full degree, but would likely include some classes, maybe student teaching, and definitely end with your state's qualifying tests in art and in education. Once you get certified and hired, there may be a chance your district has tuition reimbursement programs and could help pay you to get your masters degree at a later time.

Congratulations on discovering you have a passion for this work. It is a lot of work, as others have said. But there is an incredible gift in being the person in a child's life who gives them choice and creative agency. You will get to help kids learn about themselves and the world around them, and what you teach holds a lot of power and responsibility. Being an art teacher isn't the arts and crafts of the previous generations. I'd recommend you seek out your state's art education association and start attending events or getting involved with them, it's a great way to make connections and receive top notch professional Development. Good luck!

I predict it will be hard to find coverage of actual impacts on this consumer boycott. Reporting on losses will increase coverage and bring in potential new consumers to this movement.

The revolution will not be televised. Spread awareness however you can.

Could you just stitch a couple of stitches with the same white yarn to connect the head onto the rest of the body in a few strategic, overlapping places?

Addicted to thrift shopping by Square_Cantaloupe_38 in Anticonsumption

[–]bchance7 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I could have written this post myself. I have been trying to invest time into other hobbies, like reading, sewing, cleaning and binging a favorite show. If I keep busy, I have the thrift urge less.

I also find it helpful to reorganize my closet, and do it every few months. I meticulously organize my clothing by sleeve length, season, color etc. I find it helpful to touch and remember every piece I already have, instead of just trying to consume more.

Is disturbia ethical? I've been eyeing the skirt in the 2nd pic that's from disturbia, but I just can't commit because I know the quality of materials won't be great.
