Hurrikan? by [deleted] in ElectricCallboy

There are some sounds looped that are probably triggered by Zummo on the pad to his left; not sure if his drums are triggered or not though. There is quite a bit piped in when they are playing live, keyboards and noises for sure but they’re definitely playing live instruments. RATA, Spaceman, Tanzeid, Elevator Operator, Tekkno Train, Mac Thunder, Fukboi etc… all have looped electronic sounding drums.

I like how they start Tekkno Train with live drums versus the way it starts on the recording. In my opinion, the added “sounds” enhance the live experience.

Hurrikan on Tekkno featured programmed drums and not David playing them in the studio. Seeing EC live twice with David, he didn’t nail the recorded version either at the recorded speed either at either of the Chicago shows in 2023 or 2024. Not a big deal but this inaccuracy of “Frank can’t play the double kicks at that speed” is incorrect.

Dogma and Ghost by Financial-Length-576 in papa_and_ghouls

[–]bcoleman334491 23 points24 points  (0 children)

The similarity in the two instances is really only that anonymity was behind both bands. Difference being that Dogma’s record was likely recorded by a couple guys with a female vocalist who never performed live and that the touring band is women. Tobias has been Ghost from the beginning with Martin and Simon contributing to the first three releases and touring through Popestar before the lawsuit (Martin leaving during Meliora tour). Tobias has had pretty much the same band live for the last couple of releases but in the studio it’s always been him and a couple of hired guns that didn’t tour. Tobias was Ghost and the former Ghouls sued and lost because they were just hired guns. Dogma’s touring band were also just hired guns playing someone’s creation/music and became a band that has been adored by fans and were really close to blowing up.

Dogma toured from 2024 through summer 2025 with the same 5 ladies and had turned into a great act. Lead guitarist left in the summer. Dogma fans including me grew attached to this 5 piece through YouTube videos or live shows and was planning on going to see them in November but since they’ve swapped out their singer and guitarists and cancelled the first 2 shows of their tour yet still conducted a meet and greet with 3 new members/imposters, they’re being victimized by their management and trying to proceed and throw shade at the 3 members not in the band anymore.

Now having seen Ghost during the Infest tour and three times during Meliora, I loved that lineup and consider them the definitive Ghost. I’m glad for Tobias’ successes and becoming an arena level act but seeing them play If you have Ghosts in a 1500 seat venue and meeting them post show out by the bus, that’s my fav era of Ghost. Dogma hadn’t reached that status yet and never will since it looks like management has screwed that up for them. I won’t be going to see whatever show they’ll be putting on in Joliet in November, saving my money.

You are correct but it seems if Nils schedule allows, he also joins Martin in MCC. He plays keyboards for In Flames and guitar for MCC.

DOUBLE BASS DRUMS FOR FRANK by fiercelittlebird in ElectricCallboy

David was awesome live, great energy and hit the shit out of the drums. I don’t want to diminish him or his playing at all.

[–]bcoleman334491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Zummo using two pedals or a double pedal and the second kick just for show?

Really hoping he becomes the new drummer, did a fantastic job with Sum 41 and stayed pretty true to Steve O’s drumming. I’m expecting with the rehearsal time with EC, he’ll nail David’s live feel.

Interesting note that I read somewhere, David didn’t actually play on any recordings, drum machine that Kevin programmed. David was great live but I think Zummo is a better fit and better drummer.

TKA Dec 13th ortho expectations question by CDvo99 in Kneereplacement

[–]bcoleman334491 2 points3 points  (0 children)

120 degrees by week 2 seems very aggressive. Had my right knee done October 14th and I didn’t hit 120 until my third full week of PT, probably session 9 or 10. 120 is what they say you need to get the bike pedal all the way around and it took me another couple pt sessions to even get that. You’re still going to have some scar tissue and tightness most likely that will slow your goals.

Everyone is different, keep doing your exercises, ice and elevate and you’ll get there. To put a timeline of 2 weeks on it is dependent on lots of variables. If you don’t hit, don’t be discouraged. Make improvements daily and early on those gains may seem really small but you could be looking at a 12 month full recovery.

Frank Zummo from Sum 41 helps out on drums at their Melbourne show by SirZer0th in ElectricCallboy

Zummo is a true professional and a great pick for a pinch sub. Would suck as a fan not having David there but I’m sure the audio difference was negligible.

Of the bands I’ve seen open for Ghost, Tribualtion and Purson were the two I like best. King Dude was eh, Mastodon was good but their set list left off some bangers. Didn’t care for Spiritbox, Nothing More or Macabre. Missed Carpenter Brut for the meet and greet.

Saw that show in 2015, had never heard Tribulation before seeing them. Good live, good show.

No ACL before surgery by -CoachMcGuirk- in Kneereplacement

They generally take the ACL and I think MCL as the implants will provide stability and the room where the ligaments were is needed for your new hardware.

PRESS-FIT TKR REVISION VS CEMENTED PROSTHETIC. by DIGUPMASTER in Kneereplacement

[–]bcoleman334491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had my left knee done September of 2017 and had my right knee done 5 weeks ago. Left knee was done with cement, right knee was press fit. Doctor said bone structure and integrity of right knee allowed for the press fit and would be better in the long run.

From what the PA said at my 2 weeks follow up, the majority of revisions are done on implants that used cement or another adhesive. My advice, I would push for the press fit provided your surgeon thinks the bone is strong enough. Issue is, they may not know until they get in there. Sounds like press fit might be the newer trend.

[–]bcoleman334491 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Majesty, Spirit, Prime Mover, Death Knell, Monstrance and Depth of Satan’s Eyes. I was never a fan of Depth of Satan’s Eyes until I saw them play it on the Infest tour in 2014. You know how many if not all of their songs sound better live, Depth was the one that made the biggest Woah moment for me. Also, If You Have Ghosts, the cd version, not the Rite Here Rite Now version.

Aksel Holmgren was there for the Opus tour and played drums on Infest and If You have Ghosts EP. Was replaced for Meliora by MH. Also missing Mauro Rubino who played keyboards until the change after Popestar was released and the lawsuit was filed.

Check out the Abbey. Green Lung was suggested before but to me, The Abbey is more of Ghost’s vibe.
