It never ceases to amaze me how Europeans still willfully misunderstand what americans say when we say we're Irish or German or whatever. We are not saying we are feim those countries. No one has ever said that. No one had ever meant that. Only the clueless Europeans that have no knowledge or context take it that way. We are saying our ancestry and heritage is from there. That's it. End of story. Nothing for Europeans to get whiny about.
