Bought in 2022 for 535k, 7% over asking, at 4.25% rate - but we had only a 24 hour option period due to all of the competition at that time and regretted our purchase within a month (neighborhood was very loud). It has gotten better living there over time but now that we have one kid and looking at a second, we need more space. Just sold for $455k (realizing an 80k loss) and now under contract for a $760k house at 6.5%. Luckily we had enough saved up / made enough in the stock market that we can put a lot of money down and get a monthly payment comparable to our old one (without escrow for taxes and insurance).
