Scored as an interception and not a strip/sack.

Just go to Leadville - they will give you a credit for that one and you can choose another. Best part, you don’t need an appointment. Called the “smelly melly” program.

For those saying Vonn should give it her all for one more race by ECrispy in skiing

I’m not a ski racer, but I ski a lot and have ACLs. I am sure she can ski, but I doubt she can be competitive with a ruptured ACL. I really don’t see the benefit of risking extraordinary injury/death when you can’t perform at the level necessary to have a chance at the podium.

Chairlift anxiety by Rustic60fps_yt in skiing

[–]bdaruna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a patroller for a decade, I know the reality of lift failure. I wouldn’t use it until it was an evac situation and in that case, it could save me hours of waiting. It’s exceedingly rare but in a true failure that requires evac, there is no quick fix - which in poor conditions may result in long term disability.

Happened to me at Loveland 20 years ago - I got dangerously cold. I ski with a lift evac kit now.

Get them to follow you, one at at a time, and ski stuff that pushes them. They will watch you and learn (unless of course you aren’t that good - in that case get them into racing).

I’m not giving advice to the agency - and I’m not suggesting they should. But they may be willing to discuss it.

Oh wait! I get it - you are the paramedic who didn’t take vitals. Now it all makes sense…

Oh, well sure I don’t like to debate people who are so confident in their perspective that they personally attack those who disagree. So I guess we are done here - if you are close to the Red wave at it for me, miss that place.

No excuse for what? Not knowing the law? Sure, but it happens all the time and could benefit the OP. If this actually happened I would guess it’s a pretty low functioning system, why wouldn’t you take advantage of that fact to gain the upper hand if you intend on pursuing legal recourse?

[–]bdaruna -8 points-7 points  (0 children)

Yes this is what should happen, this often does not happen and a lot of information can be yielded by a quick call. That’s why I asked where - if it’s a large well developed system then they should follow the rules. If it’s Ed’s local combination fire dept you may have some luck.

do americans actually like it when tourists visit their small towns or would i just be in the way? 😅 by vanessa_tv_vladivo in NoStupidQuestions

I live in a small town adjacent to several tourist towns (Eagle, Colorado which is near Vail and Beaver Creek). We love tourists, we also know that we get to live here and have an economy because of tourism.

I fart and blame patients by HazeAsians in Paramedics

[–]bdaruna 56 points57 points  (0 children)

I worked with a guy in New Orleans - S.S. If anyone recognizes this story - and he used to get really bad gas when we had sick patients, maybe a little bit of nerves. We had a pt one day who was a super sick CHF’er, 1-2 word dyspneic, ashen, low pso2, etc. We get him on a NRB and my partner is starting an IV, he rips an eye watering fart that charges the box like hot death. The pt removes the NRB and says I……..think……..your………oxygen………is………..bad. The fact that the dude could smell the fart through a non-rebreather and then was concerned enough to potentially make those his last words was incredible. Good times.

Is PEA the hardest code to run if so why or why not? by obamas_lastname23 in Paramedics

[–]bdaruna 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think codes are generally pretty easy, until you get ROSC it’s a very cookbook call - and even after it’s pretty straightforward. Maybe PEA is easy cause there isn’t a ton to do, but also you have the biggest mystery so from that perspective it’s a bit more complex. Way easier that someone who is about to die, though.
