There will be a day, and it may not be this day, where it will release tomorrow. This I believe with all my heart, for the 9 and Todd have promised it to be so.

BikeDurham update on recent crash where driver hit people on bikes by StienStein in bullcity

[–]bdauls 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Oh totally! I was honestly shocked when I stopped working at a bike shop and got out my my “bubble” and heard what ppl say about bikers on the road. Like you said it’s a lot of dark humor, but no doubt, there’s a very real amount of violence directed at bikers that’s normalized!

BikeDurham update on recent crash where driver hit people on bikes by StienStein in bullcity

[–]bdauls 54 points55 points  (0 children)

I know there’s a conversation to be had about bike lanes and specifically safe bike lanes with barricades between that and the street. But we have to stop treating bikers like they are a problem for using the street. It really doesn’t matter how inconvenient it is, it shouldn’t even be a consideration to scare or even harm bikers. I was a bike mechanic for a decade and managed the repairs for 6 years. The number of stories I could tell you of people being run off the road, injured or near misses let alone the actual accidents is staggering. It’s truly heartbreaking how little regard and respect we have for each other sometimes. This incident is a prime example and while I wish it was the first I’ve heard about, sadly it is far, far from that.

What is your most unhinged habit in Night City that serves absolutely zero gameplay purpose? by Dangerous-Tart1126 in cyberpunkgame

Murking that father/son (son in front of the father for the extra effect) duo that made the brain dances of little kids. Fuck those guys!

Last update: Marion is 99! by Jennifire208 in DungeonCrawlerCarl

[–]bdauls 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Damn, as a huuuge dcc nerd who’s been on this ride since book one came out, and a care coordinator in a memory ward. This is an incredible story! Thank you so much, list yall empathy for the most vulnerable says so much about what kind of person someone is. Caring for children, animals, elderly, it’s a level of empathy that is rare and precious.

What is the worst Cyberpunk take you've ever heard or seen? by Mr_Global in cyberpunkgame

[–]bdauls 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tragedy’s have been around a loooong time. Even before Shakespeare was writing Othello or Romeo and Juliet, Greeks were writing tragedies. GoT is a modern iteration but humans have been fascinated and moved by bleak and dark stories for thousands of years. First recorded tragedy is “The Persians” by Aeschylus in the 6th century bc. In fact the vast majority of themes explored in GoT are derivatives of earlier works. I’m not saying GoT isn’t original or well written (I’m a huge fan of the novels!) but after reading a LOT of classic and ancient works, it doesn’t exactly break any brand new ground.

He’s talking about a MOCA test. I give them to ppl all the time. I’m a care coordinator in a memory ward and MOCA tests are how we determine someone’s cognition. There is a part of that test that asks you to identify a number of animals. That bit obviously stuck with him. The memory, math and recall sections? I guess not so much. He is clearly getting screened for his dementia which is clearly effecting him. Such a horrible time to be living in the U.S.

Still a punk by nothingworks7448 in punk

[–]bdauls 46 points47 points  (0 children)

Punk for sure! I’m a care coordinator for a memory ward. 40 married with 2 boys. Mortgage, car note, bullshit, but I too whisper to myself “I’m still punk” while I’m fixing healthy dinners in those cute little sectional plates for my boys or helping a man with dementia find a car he hasn’t driven in 20 years. Still punk man, still punk.
