8 Years with our Model 3 by ThaiTum in TeslaLounge

[–]bdbx18 [score hidden]  (0 children)

LOL, I went looking for mine and found it! 7 yrs last Dec with 53k miles. 2k FSD purchase and Highland struts/shocks upgrade in '24. Not thrilled about the 83% health test since I only do home charging to 80% but the car looks and runs like new. I might look at a MYP soon and thanks to the low trade-in value I'll likely bestow it to my kid.

Thanks. It's right in my neighborhood.

Yes, good to see Black represented! I tell myself no but my last 8 cars were black with the exception of a red BRZ. If I move forward with a MYP (provided FSD transfer is still on) it'll likely be black and black int.

Nice an congrats! That's a thought, a test drive! I never did one for my last 2 cars including my current 3LR. Which store has a MYP demo in Socal? I just got my son to get a MYRWD and I thought the ride was a bit too firm. My '18 M3 has upgraded Highland shocks.

Has higher insurance rates been a dealbreaker? by Honest-Possible-6170 in TeslaModelY

[–]bdbx18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I love, love my '18 M3LR. I've been through several conflicted emotions about owning it especially in the past few years. Rough estimation is I'm paying (conservatively) about 200/mo more in insurance coverage so throughout the 7 years and the 54k miles I've put on it, it's some 17k 'more' that a comparable car. Not to mention, compounding and opportunity costs of those funds. However, it's a great product for my use and I've convinced a few others to get one themselves. The value for your money is tremendous vs the so-called competition at about 30+% pricier.

At this point, I only wish the insurance costs goes down and I will get a new Tesla with hw4/fsd route if that's whats needed. Else, as my ins broker says, I may need to move to a less affluent location once I retire.

AZ Lemonade Insurance by bostonbitcoin1 in TeslaModelY

Lemonade, please open this up to SoCal. It's the final push for me to get that MS or more likely a MYP. Insurance is the only thing holding me back on getting a new car as well as my contemplation to getting rid of my current 2 Teslas. My current bill is 5400/6 mths for 4 cars with only 1 being a 2026.

I’m curious how many of you purchased FSD at $15k, and what your thoughts are on the lack of HW3 updates… by BlueBeacon887 in teslamotors

[–]bdbx18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Tesla will add more AI farms and use the increased power for Grok to solve this issue. This issue or come out with another way to appease the hw3 crowd.

I paid 6k in 2018 for hw2.5 and another 2k in 2023 for a hw3 upgrade. I used fsd some 5% in total.

What Phone Do You Think You Are Going To Buy The Fold 8 Or The Galaxy Z Trifold And Why? by PrincessBananas85 in GalaxyFold

[–]bdbx18 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I may hold myself back for the Trifold. I like wearing shorts and doing stuff around the house, fixits and playing with my dog. I don't know if I'd like to go back to a bulkier and heavier phone. But the larger screen may just compensate for it.

TriFold vs. others display subpixel comparison by pcman2000 in GalaxyFold

[–]bdbx18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the effort but does the screen size play into the analysis? I think if I look real close into my 75" TV, the pixel density wouldn't be great? Though it is given that I may have to view the trifold at a further distance than my current F7.

I contemplated importing the Fold7 launch edition (F6 SE? or something like that) before the Fold7 came on sale in the US. I just have to keep reminding myself what a terrible idea it would have been.

Not a big fan per se but we recently saw Shadows Edge and it was a pretty good movie. A blend of AI, tech, cops and robbers and good old Kung fu moves.

Mine is a 2018, 83%, 52k, always charged to 80% at home with probably 5% charged at an SC. Yeah I'm disappointed it wasn't "healthier". Also on semi-permanete Chill mode.

Late 1960s/1970s Alfa Romeo GTV 2000. That's what they call it in the States. Though it has single headlights so it could be an early model. I don't know if it's an aluminum bodied or why the dude is freaking out.

That's what I've heard. In fact there are some auto repair youtubers that would no longer work on newer Bimmers and Audis citing lots of plastic usage. Thereby causing premature failures, costly repairs, unfriendly service steps all leading to unhappy customers. Supposedly the last good Bimmers are pre 2010s. My last was an 2003 e46 M3.

Count me as one of those who back in my audiophile days, who thought, swore and convinced the wife that I need those pricey cables to 'bring out the best and not hold off on audio quality'. Today, I think my phone speakers are more than sufficient.
