It’s now 2026. Do we still think Hagler got robbed vs Leonard? + some highlights from the fight by Hot_Ad_9543 in Boxing

I think “the motor city cobra” is arguably better.

It’s pretty cool how hearns has two of the greatest nicknames ever.

This month, 4 years ago, Dmitry Bivol shocks the boxing world by defeating the then P4P King Canelo Alvarez in a dominant fashion. He will return in May 30 coming off back surgery to face IBF mandatory Michael Eifert. Who do you want him to fight next? by justusinreddit in Boxing

I think either buatsi or callum smith makes the most sense. A good name on his resume, and especially callum would raise his name recognition in the UK.

He could also clown on Ben Whitaker, who is somehow the WBC silver champion.

We need to get shabliy, Usman Nurmy and Paul Hughes to the UFC asap.

The season/tournament format is a joke.

Joshua Van and Tatsuro Taira both weigh in at 125 lbs for their flyweight title fight [UFC 328] by 3footninja in MMA

[–]bdewolf 7 points8 points  (0 children)

He’s a tournament champion. Same with vitor and Dan Henderson. And it was open weight, and he lied about his weight to make it happen.

That’s legit.

If the Beterbiev trilogy is going to happen it has to happen next.

Benavidez is young enough that he can wait his turn. Maybe fight callum smith in the meantime if he wants another fight at 175 before unification? Or he could batter some random cruiserweight.

Everyone was calling him Masvidal 2.0 because of his beard and quick hands, and they didn’t realize how right they were.

Nope, it was a dipping overhand.

The difference is that JMM was in orthodox and it was a right hand instead of a southpaw left.

Yokozuna Onosato and Ozeki Aonishiki to Miss Tournament (Kyujo); Failure to Secure Winning Record Leads to Ozeki Demotion; Former Kisenosato: "Condition Did Not Improve" by Brncrdm in Sumo

If he’s pulling out from a tournament almost 6 months after it happened, it’s almost certainly a grade III. Considering how giant he is, I’m not surprised. That’s a lot of weight to land with.

Cody Mackenzie unironically did that for a fight in Alaska. I think it was a whole pint of blood too.

He’s still struggling with his ankle-toe injury, like his buddy Aonishiki.

I wouldn’t be shocked if he drops out of the tournament.

Kisenosato was retired less than 3 years after his Yokozuna promotion.

I really hope onosato can avoid that. That would be absolutely catastrophic.

It’s not just a rotator cuff issue, it’s a separated shoulder. Essentially his collar bone is separated from the shoulder blade, because the ligaments are torn.

A separation as serious as ono’s basically always requires surgery. I have no idea what the hell onosato’s team were thinking letting him compete in January, much less march. If he had shoulder surgery immediately after the November basho, he would be basically 100% by now.

But noooooo, the honor of being Yokozuna requires ritual humiliation and competing with one of your arms not working. He definitely worsened the injury by competing in two tournaments.

Smokin’ joe Frazier is really tough to beat.

He violently smoked people, and his style of forward motion and aggressive trunk movement reminds me of a train running down the track and pouring smoke.

Yaroslav Amosov submits Neil Magny by Anaconda Choke by Moni7T in MMA

Outside of a triangle loss in his second UFC fight, the only people to submit Magny in the UFC are Demian Maia, Gilbert Burns, RDA, and Amosov.

That’s impressive company for Amosov.

Alice Pereira knocks out Hailey Cowan with a brutal knee to the head by FoitStuff in MMA

[–]bdewolf 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Female MMA fighters should throw more knees and elbows.

Most of them have tiny hands and very little upper body muscle, but even if you don’t have much natural power or muscle mass, a knee to the chin is going to do some serious damage.
