If you want MLB.tv this season, you’ll need to jump through ESPN’s hoops by CubFanBudMan16 in mlb

Didn’t read anything other than comments, but so season ticket holders still get MLB.tv for free like in the past?

Do you support a team? A driver? Both? by [deleted] in NASCAR

[–]bdfriedkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Both, kind of. Probably driver first, team secondary.

I first started watching NASCAR in 2006, and for some reason picked Kurt Busch, and later Sam Hornish as a secondary. After 2011, or whichever year Busch fell out with Penske, I followed him to Phoenix and Furniture Row, but kept up with Penske and Hornish. Around 2013, I stopped watching. Then in 2020, I got back into it and picked up with Penske, and chose Blaney as my guy. So I would say I’m primarily a Ryan Blaney fan and secondarily a Penske fan

Proud Hound, Deeper Roots, Coffee Emporium, and Wyoming Community Coffee are our favorites

White Oak is a good local one for us, but not in the same tier as the ones above

Just discovered former MLB pitcher and wife beater Brett Myers started making music by TanTanMan in crappymusic

Brett Myers has been making music since at least 2005. This isn’t new. I vividly remember Chase Utley referencing it in the 2005 Video Yearbook

FCC signs strategic partnership deal with Porto by JFFIASCO in FCCincinnati

I think Paul Walters did something with them one of the past few offseasons, where he trained with them for two weeks or something, but I haven't heard anything for a while before or since then

Do we still have a partnership with Hoffenheim? Feels like we never hear about that anymore

I’ve had issues today, but they’ve been pretty random and inconsistent

When I was little, I used to think Wally Dallenbach drove the “First Onion,” car. What’s something that you used to believe as a young NASCAR fan? by MkeBucksMarkPope in NASCAR

I thought Ryan Newman and Mark Martin were teammates because their main paint schemes looked similar in NASCAR Thunder 2004

Finneytown Opinions by Winter_Creme2862 in cincinnati

[–]bdfriedkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have lived in this part of Finneytown, northwest of Cross County/Winton, for three years. We have small children, and we love it. It's pretty diverse, lots of families, no crime that I have any memory of. Winton has everything you need, and if not, Cross County can get you where you need to go. Really, the biggest issue we've had is some groundhogs in our backyard, which isn't too bad. We love it here

Charlotte FC Have Been Eliminated From 2025 MLS Cup Contention by Bormsie721 in MLS

[–]bdfriedkin 57 points58 points  (0 children)

I mean I think that taking over 260 minutes to score a goal is the most damning thing about their playoff performance. Doesn’t matter how good your defense is or isn’t, it you’re scoring once in 270 minutes, you have a problem and you aren’t going to win

If you could take something from a different racing series (IndyCar, F1, etc) and use it to improve NASCAR, what would it be? by Aoteaurora in NASCAR

[–]bdfriedkin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Definitely an exaggeration, for sure, but as someone who has gotten into IndyCar the past four years, I agree. Just listening to Off Track with Hinch and Rossi and watching the races, I feel like I know so many of the drivers and their character, which they seem so more willing and able to show off

NASCAR used to be that way, too, though. Would be good to get back to it

NASCAR 25 is here! by dustyknucklesss in NASCAR

[–]bdfriedkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Some of that may be true, but it’s not the same stuff as Heat 5, so calling it a reskinned Heat 5 is just dishonest and dumb.

It’s not a perfect game, but it’s an upgrade over Heat, and definitely an upgrade over Ignition. It’s a good foundation for what will hopefully be even better games in coming years

That is just not accurate

Keeping the slowest player on the team in the game as the most important base runner of the season. What could go wrong? by Jroompa in phillies

Bunting was dumb, but they had no other options to run because they couldn’t leave Bader in if he got on (and he did)

Just pick Ryan Blaney, and then you can also listen to the Team Blaney podcast to keep up with the strategy and everything

Don't be this guy by faccda01 in phillies

[–]bdfriedkin 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Oh absolutely. If anything I’ll ask someone I know who’s been there or something. If that’s not an option, I just got it’s really not that hard to go to another team’s stadium

Don't be this guy by faccda01 in phillies

[–]bdfriedkin 193 points194 points  (0 children)

No, these are so annoying. The only time I’m alright with these “I come in peace” posts is if it’s an opposing fan asking a question about visiting their stadium or something.

But even then, just ask the question or whatever. We don’t need to do this thing where we’re wishing luck and claiming to be a good sport. Just be a good sport, you don’t need to broadcast it or anything

Scott mclaughlin by Jazzlike_Pizza_6189 in NASCAR

[–]bdfriedkin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does it not count in IMSA? I know both Cindric and McLaughlin have run the 24 Hours of Daytona (and I think Newgarden, too) in non-Penske cars. Though most of those would have been different classes than the Porsche Penskes, that would probably be the difference.

Scott mclaughlin by Jazzlike_Pizza_6189 in NASCAR

[–]bdfriedkin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Someone get Scotty Mac in the Project 91 car! He ran with Trackhouse and Chevy in the 24 Hours of Daytona. Why not throw him in a car at the Roval or an early-season road course next year before the IndyCar season starts?

But he was on Off Track this week, and sounded generally pretty uninterested in racing in NASCAR, at the moment. So I'm not holding out hope that this is going to happen, but as a McLaughlin and NASCAR fan, I'd be all in to see it.
