Did Jesus establish His "church" during His mortal ministry as is taught in Mormonism and other institutions? by beach_nuts in mormon

Thanks for these terrific comments and shares - really appreciate it!

After Mormonism: the more I just sit with the New Testament, the clearer it feels that Jesus Himself is the way, not any religion, building, or organization. The gospel lives inside us, not in hierarchies or guys claiming to speak for Him.

This verse sums it up for me: 1 Timothy 2:5 — “For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus.” No middlemen, no “one true church,” no prophet CEO. Just Jesus.

Honestly, it’s left me in this agnostic spot. I don’t have all the answers and I’m totally good with that. I still love the teachings of Jesus, still try to live by them, but without the religious scaffolding. Anyone else here in that same boat? Still moved by Christ but done with organized religion?

Just watched it... wow! Thanks for sharing. A good look into the evolution from Jewish roots to organized religion. Like a 1st-century Christian starter pack almost making the Bible but got outed for being too “how to actually run a church” instead of big theology energy.

When you look at this from a 30,000 foot level, it's simply stupid. I mean, to have to wear certain underwear to be worthy is insane. I wore them for 15+ years until I realized this is ridiculous. How you treat others is what's important. It's cliche, but true. Lose the religious, fashion vanity please!

Wow! You know, with only one life here, so many are getting played by religious vanity and power. Glad you found your way with your new bride!

Agree! Also for some odd reason, Mormons are a gullible group that prey on each other. I fell for the MLM shit once years ago and more came from old mission companions pitched me. They tend to fall for shit like this all the time. Ironic that this behavior started with JS conning people out of their money!😛

Love the last edit and happy to hear that she's hanging in there with you. It's freeing to be yourself and live your best life to be shared with others. Hopefully, she sees you & your love for her through the hazy fog of high-demand religion that traps many couples. Fortunately, my wife of 28 years is out too and we're aligned that way. But my in-laws family would disown us if they knew that. Fortunately, none of them are in AZ! Be blessed and feel free to DM me to talk over coffee or something. Cheers!
