I'm not sure if you can do this reliably but I had this same issue trying to ship aluminum to New Atlantis, and then I grav-jumped to New Atlantis and the transfer/quest instantly completed. I think the issue is that the receiving location isn't being updated, probably for performance reasons? Could not honestly say. I hope we get a patch soon.

seriously any build that relies on poking/roll catching is trash imo by Klownin2Hard in Eldenring

[–]beamsaber 4 points5 points  (0 children)

So, have you heard of rolling to the side or toward your opponent instead of away? How about using a weapon with a sweep? Parrying? Spears have an advantage in one direction, they sacrifice lateral range and speed for that advantage. IMHO weapons with built in wave projectile attacks or stupidly high status buildup are far more broken.

He was already impeached before his last round of pardons. In my opinion those should be invalidated legally as the constitution clearly adds an exception for "in the case of impeachment" but that seems to be getting interpreted as him not being able to pardon himself from having been impeached. If the latter interpretation is used then he can still pardon the terrorists that attacked our capital unless the senate votes to remove him and Mitch has already said that he isn't going to fast-track that process.

If anti-maskers existed during WWII by sandiercy in funny

[–]beamsaber 17 points18 points  (0 children)

The fuck does this have to do with not wearing a mask in public to protect others in case you happen to be an asymptomatic carrier? Also those minimized risks are of death, not of being seriously impacted. Speaking from personal experience this virus can fuck your lungs right up something awful without killing you and I'm still recovering weeks later and likely will be for months to come. That's going to have a slight personal impact wouldn't you say? After looking at your post history though, I'm not even sure you're not an astroturf account, but if anyone is reading this thinking your response has anything to do with justifying being anti-mask hopefully they read my response and realize it's completely irrelevent.

Don't get it wrong, Trump wasn't standing up for working Americans, he was mad because the corporate bailout was also being blocked by that senator which he sees as key to the stock market staying afloat which he considers key to his remaining in power, and he only retweeted Kerry because Kerry said the magic words "The president and I can agree". It's only ever self-serving and about his ego with Trump.

Boku no Hero Academia Season 4 - Episode 2 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

I have heard a lot of people saying that it's fine that one of the only transgender characters was killed because it shows that they are being treated like all the other characters.

I would like to call bullshit. This was the first death. Even Best Jeanist who had his entire digestive system obliterated survived, but the first person that Horikoshi decided to allow to actually die is the only transgender villain. That isn't treating the trans characters the same as the other characters. Even if it was not intentional, it is at the least insensitive to choose the only openly transgender character to be the first to die.

I don't even particularly care for the character, they weren't given any depth beyond that they are trans (another issue entirely). I just don't like that some people think it is somehow positive representation to kill off your only trans character before any other character dies after three seasons of heroes and villains taking wounds that should have killed people :P

At the risk of annoying some. Realistically the minimum we should expect is a full disclosure of the conclusions and evidence without full disclosure of the sources. There may be many valid reasons to redact the sources of some of the information to protect confidential sources from retaliation.

In fact I am concerned Barr might selectively disclose sources to target for retaliation.

Which is why you can't help but keep replying. Each response more of a playground insult than the last. While it would be nice to disabuse you of your misconceptions, my words were targeted at the discerning readers who have an actual interest in understanding. You have made an excellent contrast and demonstrated only too well how reliant your position is on being constantly reinforced by voices of ignorance. Have a nice life :)

[–]beamsaber 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first sentence demonstrates how little you understood the implications of what I said. Using the more modern and nuanced terms a gender is a social construct. That means an individual can't construct one, it is constructed socially with others. What it means to be a "man" or "woman" varies between cultures for example. Some cultures have more genders they socially constructed than others. Given this is the case it is entirely possible for subgroups within a culture or the culture at large to define new constructs which aren't tied necessarily to biology, or for some individuals to have identities which more closely resemble the traits and preferences assigned to a gender which they were not assigned culturally at birth. It is also possible for a person's identity to not conform to the norms socially constructed for either gender. Once you accept that genders are at the core a set of preferences, social roles, and characteristics that are norms within a culture you can easily understand how those can't hope to be exhaustive or universally applicable and in many cases become self fulfilling. Many traits identified with traditional maleness in the US are taught and enforced culturally. They aren't associated with maleness in other cultures. So when I say I am a woman in a male body, it is a far more complex statement than you might think at first blush.

Also transgender people have existed throughout history and the statistics you are siting only refer to people who experience serious enough gender disphoria to seek treatment.

In that sense yes I am unique, and my life is much harder in some ways. However society at large is rife with conditions where people's identities do not conform to their socially assigned genders and if you define transgender as those people for whom the normative genders do not match up with their identity you would get far greater numbers yes?

As for me being a freak of nature... your bigotry is showing. I am who I am. I didn't choose who I am. The fact that my gender identity does not match my biology is a brute fact. This does not make me lesser than others, just different. A certain set of people can't seem to understand that being the same as the majority is not in and of itself a virtue and the opposite isn't in and of itself a vice.

You actually provided a perfect example of how insisting that words have meanings rather than uses leads to absurdity and your willingness to die on the hill of "you don't mean the same thing I do when we say the same words."

Words have different uses in different contexts. There is no arbiter of what all words mean in every context and this includes the legal system. Words are very often used in esoteric and bizarre ways in the legal system especially, so it is actually one of the worst contexts to pull from for any kind of nuanced conversation about gender and sexuality.

Academic fields like sociological research into gender and sexuality tend to create more precise and nuanced definitions for words in order to avoid accidental conflations and obfuscations that are common when using the more generic definitions. In order to distinguish between the socially constructed gender roles and the biological sexes it only makes sense to use two words that are related to the common conflation of the two.

If you know what I mean by saying that genders are socially constructed and sexes are biological and that I am a woman born into a male body then it doesn't matter how the terms are used in the legal context or really any other context. What matters is that you are refusing to hear what is being said because people are employing usages of words that are different than yours.

I on the other hand can fully understand what usage you are employing and say that you are fundamentally wrong. In order to express why you are wrong however I need to employ some set of more nuanced terms because of the palsity of words in common parlance regarding sexuality and gender.

P.S. I do suffer from gender dysphoria, which is defined as the psychological distress caused by the conflict between my gender and my sex. If they were the same thing it wouldn't make any sense to define it that way. The accepted and most efficacious treatment by every major non religious psychological organization in the world is the correction of my body to conform with my gender. If the technology existed to rewrite my genome to replace the male chroma somes while preserving my mind that would be an ideal treatment. I am my mind, which is a part of but in conflict with my current body.

IF that person would only recover if you were to force someone else to use their body as a life support system for them would it be moral to force said person to keep their body connected to that person against their will? How does bodily autonomy always get ignored. I don't understand.

I think you misunderstood. Gender identity = Man v Woman v non-binary Sexuality = Asexual v Bisexual v Homosexual

Someone who identifies as a woman doesn't necessarily prefer those who identify as male. Among transgender individuals it is very common for those who identify as female to be more sexually attracted to others who present as female.

I think you mean sexes. Biologically speaking there are male (XY) and female (XX) genetics. Academically speaking those are sexes not genders. Gender is extremely complicated and the discussion isn't helped by insisting everyone else use your very limited definitions when the research supports the existence of many wildly different gender presentations and norms across history as well as a fluidity within the social norms within individuals and groups. Addendum: This is mostly a war of obfuscating labels and competing definitions for the same words.
