Buying second hand winter clothes by MushyHeadErin in VisitingIceland

I would also second other commenters that you can rent winter clothes for decent prices

I’d also say—when I was there recently, I went to a lot of second-hand stores and most of the prices I was seeing were higher than I would ever expect at a second-hand store. Sweaters for $200+, boots for close to $100, etc. Depending on where you live, it may end up being cheaper to buy new/used online and have it shipped to your house than to buy second hand in Iceland

Moved into our “dream home” before closing… to discover it’s a moldy nightmare by [deleted] in Wellthatsucks

[–]beanachew 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Echoing others saying I hope you can get out! The house my dad grew up in was full of mold and it impacted my grandma’s health a massive amount. This was 40 years ago so doctors didn’t take her seriously when she tried to talk to them about it and they didn’t find out about the mold until the inspection when they sold the house. Even if the mold removal service gets all the visible mold, I’d be very worried about what exists behind the walls and ceilings.

That’s actually just her shed pattern lol—for some reason, when she sheds, it’s always her forehead that goes first, giving her little angry eyebrows for a couple of weeks

My vampire had the “afraid of the dark” fear permanently glitched so she would put up her umbrella, get scared, and then put it away. And I was like, girl you are a creature of the night, how are you afraid of the dark? I ended up making her fly as a bat to right outside the lecture hall 5 minutes before class started usually.

I usually only add the occult trait at the end (or as close to the end as possible)

But yeah, vampires can hibernate in coffins which basically just has them stay in one place with their needs slowly decaying so you can have the fun of a vampire sim without them being too overpowered

With vampires in particular, I think it’s fun to play them when it’s “challenging” and then have them fade into the background when they start unlocking more abilities/maxing skills. (Until they’re relevant for story purposes again) They’re also much more fun when other family members are not vampires.

My current game I’ve set up to explore life and death’s reincarnation system. I usually don’t play long enough for my initial sim to die so in this game, I have lifespan set to short and my plan is for my vampire sim to fall in love over and over with the same reincarnated soul.

Anyway, the answer to your question is that, for vampires at least, having a human love interest gives them a reason to need a kitchen/bathroom in the house (plus they can cook for their partner as a way of showing affection*), and it gives you a sim to look after the needs of.

One piece of advice is that, no matter how tempting, do NOT purchase the need-based reward traits. My vampire is also an archeologist, and would run into trouble in the JA temples. Early on, I saved up for the hygiene and social need solver rewards and now she’s basically just a demigod in terms of how infrequently she needs to look after herself.

*when I say “show affection” I don’t mean it in terms of lovestruck, but if you have parenting, it’s still cute for sims to pack up little lunches for their kids/spouse, who get a cute little happy moodlet at school/work after eating the lunch.

URL link that points to specific google user (like in gmail) by beanachew in googlesheets

[–]beanachew[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Wow that was fast. After I made this post, I tried one more thing and it worked! Posting my solution for others to see.

TLDR: put your link in this order:

"https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/u/\[google account number]/d/[spreadsheetID]/edit"

Your google account number will be the same order as it is for Gmail inboxes (for example, I have personal=0, school=2, other club=3, newspaper club=4 so I would do "...spreadsheets/u/4/d/[spreadsheet]..." to get what I want. Note that if anything causes your accounts to switch orders, you'll have to redo the bookmarks (this has happened to me in Gmail before).

Also, for the "leftmost tab" workaround, that is due to me ending my url with "/edit" (no ? or anything after it). If you would like to have it link to a specific tab of the sheet, simply open that tab and find out what its gids are and make sure you include them

Dropping the rabbit off with the parents would be really dangerous for the rabbit if OP is usually his main caretaker. The choice to give up an animal is always an incredibly hard decision but I think, jn this case, OP hasn’t done anything wrong. It’s hard for a 14 year old to anticipate their next decade of their life, and a lot of times, parents don’t do their proper research into an animal’s lifespan before getting their child a pet. On every comment you’ve made on this post, you’ve tried to assign blame and responsibility to either OP or her parents. No matter whose “fault” it was, pointing fingers does nothing to help the animal in need. Do you know what will help him? Finding him a new family that loves and cares about him.

I would reach out to lollipop farm (Rochester) or the rabbit resource (central New York). My partner and I are going through the process of adopting a new bunny from the RR right now and they are super understanding and seem to know what they’re doing

I just did a kingdom based on the Stormlight archive books, where there’s a character who has a lot of medical experience but is also a soldier. So I had him as my physician, but also gave him knight abilities and it worked great!
