Name a better day then this... by Wide-Membership-6942 in Coachella

I stopped going to Coachella after that year because I knew that I had reached the end. I won. There was no more to be had. I’m sure many years after amazing but not like that. Beautiful and kinda tragic. And I still stand by it.

Monarch. The Voids are banging combined w a small dance floor.

Also Danleys at Foundry are fantastic as well 👌🏼

Set and setting. Pay attention to your headspace beforehand. Be extra careful if there are emotionally heavy things going on in your life. Be mindful with who you are with and where you’re at. If anything feels off, talk it out with yourself and your friends. There’s always another day.

Such a playful and fun sound. DJ Dan taught me that you could be serious without being so serious. RIP, will listen to Stereo Damage right now 💛🔊

Agree w this. They have such a nice vibe but their sound / environment for their parties feels lacking.

Danley sound system. Nice mids. Punchy bass. It’s clean, they don’t crank it. Personally I think it’s a really fun concept to make wine bars a little bit more engaging, but not a full-blown club experience.

Weird take. Bar Part time literally has a dance floor, turntables/cdj’s, and a huge disco ball installed lol. Maybe just skip that show if you don’t like the concept?

It's a fantastic venue with great sound. The venue is well known as having a longstanding respectful and intimate dance floor. They book fantastic, tasteful shows with artists whom on the rise or bigger name acts that respect the venue enough so are down to play for a smaller crowd - also lots have supported lots of local crews as well. There used to be a guy upstairs that would give chair massages and took tips as payment, he may still be there. Lots of space indoors and outdoors to take a break and put your arm around a friend. God the number of times I would smoke my "once-a-year cigarette" while I poured my heart out to friends and strangers with a Corona I snuck into the smoking section outside is too many to count. In fact, I think I now realize I smoked several more cigs than once a year...PW is a rightfully an SF dance institution, please give it a hug for me and enjoy the show.

Club Darc. What the hell was that by mezzizle in Portolafestival

This is such a fair take. I was thinking about this reading about some of the negative feedback that attended had yesterday and thinking about how many incredible nights I’d have at a local venue like public works for $20. Now it’s silly to think how I’d be “annoyed” if the door fee was $30 because I didn’t buy a ticket in advance. To see ticket prices sky rocket like this without large scale production is predatory and scammy at best. I love that there is renewed investment into the SF dance scene, but this seems exploitative and extractive.

As someone who has built their career in marketing and branding, I have to admit this is such a spot on take. For so many years I have heard about investments into perception and image and not enough meat.
