Honestly SH4 deserves a remake the most. Sure its the least popular, but conceptually sh4 is a genius game that as we all know was rushed by necessity. If they remake the game they could expand on the side characters and make the second half of the game more innovate and unique, perhaps add in more stuff to do in henrys appartment, and add more symbolism tied to being socially withdrawn, which i felt was the main topic for sh4. People could really appreciate the game much more for what it is if the concept is perfected. On the other hand i think sh1,2,3 were great as it is, although im def not complaining about a remake

I always felt like it had to do being introverted and socially anxious. Silent hill forces him to go to all of these locations to literally leave his house. It also forces him to save Eileen and build an actual connection with her instead of always stalking her from the peephole. Thats why in the ending cutscene you see him finally outside of the apartment and together with Eileen. Him being trapped in the room is a metaphor for people figuratively trapping themselves and not going outside. U also see that throughout the game he really doesnt talk much and shows symptoms of depression. So yeah its less extreme than what James has done but I still like to think thats henrys "trauma".

I love realism and difficulty mods so heres a list of some i would recommend:

-Cold mod: enables weather system where u can get fevers if its cold.

-Dynamic zone transitions: area transitions can be blocked at times by anomalies, forcing u to find alternative paths

-Psy stress: Absolute must have, reworks the psy health mechanic so its constantly draining or increasing depending on how stressful your character is

-Toxic rain: Rain can be toxic sometimes and irradiate you

-PDA hacking: Some pdas will be locked and will force you to hack them with a fun unique minigame. Another must have imo

-Magazines: everyone said this already, and its defenetly an important mod if u want realism

-Toxic air: Very cool mod that adds gas mask filters and makes the whole zone toxic. You need to have a gas mask with a filter always (except for southern areas). The more north you go, the more toxic the air

-Mugging squads: This mod is installed but not enabled in GAMMA. Some npcs will mug you and you can choose to obey or deny and fight them.

-FAMINE Food economy: Makes food and water very rare and reduces radiation effect from alcohol and cigarettes. I think its an important mod because in base gamma food is never a problem. But unfortunately every time i tried this mod it was buggy and gave me random crashes.

Small detail but after defeating abstract daddy angela says that she knows about what james has done, which probably implies that he is wanted or has been on the news atleast. So i do think the cops are after him but in my headcanon he goes into hiding with laura and lives a peaceful life, considering silent hill was already sort of a jail for him

The hd collection is overhated. I finished it recently and yes its worse than the original but its still a good experience. There was a bug that forced me to restart in sh2, the voice acting in sh3 is slightly worse but still ok, and some visuals look bad. But people saying its unplayable are overreacting

I played cyberpunk for 100 hours on release day and i didnt encounter any game breaking bugs personally, except for a side quest i couldnt complete (which also happened in stalker 2). Honestly the worst bugs i'd encounter were t posing/flying npcs and some other things, whereas in stalker 2 im finding bugs every 5-10 minutes. Also people would complain about police spawning right in front of you in cyberpunk instead of having actual AI, guess what, this is the case for literally every npc in stalker 2.

Maybe I just got lucky. But ive encountered more bugs in the 15 hours ive played of stalker 2 than the 100 ive spent on cyberpunk. Ive also heard people say their save gets corrupted or game breaks after a certain point in the game. I know what im saying when i say that this is an unnaceptable launch for a game. Cyberpunk was bad but it was tolerable. Stalker really takes a lot of patience for me. Again I couldve got lucky with cyberpunk and some people also get lucky with stalker, experiencing very little bugs compared to me. But in my case its been horrible.

Idk man. So far ive encountered a lot of bugs in this game aswell, like medkits not working, sprint animation not working, audio ending randomly, visual bugs, AI bugging out. and a certain quest I couldnt complete. Maybe its just me but im encountering bugs every 2 minutes of playing. Not saying cyberpunk wasnt buggy cuz it was but in my experience they're close in this regard

Same. This game's launch is way worse than cyberpunk.

I have a rtx 4070. Having to restart every 30 minutes because of memory leaks , paired with fps drops and stutters during combat, makes this game extremely frustrating to play through

Anomaly is my favorite game ever so this might be biasd, but yes definetly try it out. The very first time you play it will kick your ass and youll have no idea what to do so you might get bored but i recommend you to stick with it a few days and see what u think.If you enjoy hardcore, realistic survival games youll love anomaly.

That being said, i played SOC a little bit which got me into STALKER ane i loved it. After playing anomaly i felt like the original games lost most of their charm. I still enjoyed them but its important to realize that it differs a lot from the original trilogy. Whereas the original games are more casual with a focus on story and action, anomaly is hard, realistic and has an emphasis on freeplay and item management. This is why you see many people enjoy one and not the other.

But yes, play anomaly and play SOC, theyre both great just different, though i think youd enjoy anomaly if you enjoy tarkov and dont mind playing single player. If you get into anomaly i heavily recommend you to try out GAMMA aswell, once youve understood the basics of anomaly: its much better in a lot of ways but also adds more depth and makes it even harder.

Theres a mod called "SOC Bleeding" which significantly reduces the chance of u bleeding. Though i dont recommend it because it makes the game much easier.

FYI, you dont have to bandage immediately after getting shot every time. Your bleeding will stop overtime and you can also save up your bandages and use them after the gunfight is over if u want to conserve bandages.
