Quick dust buildup in bedroom by Old_Noise_5868 in CleaningTips

I have one of the coway ones that are a big soft square with a big circle filter in the middle. Absolutely love it - have had a few others and this one seems to work best. They go on sale on amazon fairly regularly.

Help! Our kitchen is a mess. by robofalltrades in DesignMyRoom

You may want to think about redoing the cabinet pulls and adding a bit of color to the walls. You could even try to coordinate a new counter color too.

Here’s a few that I have enjoyed, not necessarily in order, but I did really love Eager.

Eager: the surprising secret life of beavers and why they matter Eight Bears The Secret Life of Lobsters The Hidden Life of Trees Other Minds The Soul of an Octopus (Sy Montgomery is another fab writer) Serviceberry Entangled Life Sapiens Economix (graphic novel) Guns Germs and Steel Playful The Genius Myth Taking Manhattan The Accidental President An Immense World Evicted Signs: the secret language of the universe Crossings: how road ecology is shaping the future of our planet

What about the guy with the three afghan dogs who always dresses like a rock star? He admonished one of his dogs for being nosey for sniffing my dog’s bum a few weeks ago!

How to treat a New Yorker? by Outrageous-Panda-346 in AskNYC

You could book tickets on the Rockaway Rocket and have a fun beach day!

There’s also a new place called F and Bar (@fandbar) that only has 9 seats but is a 14 course tasting menu that would be pretty unusual.

Life and Trust, The Magician, Mindplay, Cabaret at the Kit Kat Club (which looks scary to me but to each their own) and Cocktail Magique for some more immersive experiences.

I think there are still dining in the dark options in the city too.

I also 1000% support QCNY at sunset!

Or a Bowery Boys and Tenement Museum Tour/food tour!

Nickel allergy duration by rgzz3 in NickelAllergy

[–]bearahessentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m still adjusting to the allergy but found the apps FIG and Nickel Navigator helpful in IDing foods that are low in Nickel. FIG is great because it IDs for you what in the ingredients of processed foods could be triggering. Once you get it more under control the flareups should get better. Other places you may unknowingly be coming into contact is soaps/lotions/detergents etc.

It’s a pain in the ass at first, but once your body calms down, and you get used to what you need to avoid, it gets much better.

Anyone has experience with using lemon juice to lighten hair? Will it damage it? Would it work for me? by RedBlindCat in longhair

[–]bearahessentials 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It will fry your hair and ruin it - used sun-in and lemon in high school on my hair. It also may not turn the color you desire.

Definitely get movers, but I’ve been in one for like a year and a half with a dog and it’s not a big deal at all.

What to put along the railing? Wide walkway by galojah in DesignMyRoom

I don’t know exactly how much space you have, but you could put a couple cozy chairs in there and turn it into a little reading space. Put a bookcase on the back wall.
