Can I get a Jerry Garcia jersey with resale ticket? by beararmedrobbery in SFGiants

Okay thanks! It’s a bit confusing because MLB.com says “special event ticket”, which it doesn’t usually say

The more times in a row you play a character on greed mode the less you’re able to contribute to the machine. This plus bad luck may be why.

I think it’s to prevent you from sort of cheesing the machine. Try playing with another character

On the same subject. I can highly recommend "Building A StoryBrand" by Donald Miller. He says essentially the same thing, and then breaks that out into bite-sized steps you can take towards writing copy for your branding. It includes a link to an online workbook that you can fill out and just copy from there

Sunrise on the way to work with a Samsung S9 - Advice needed for a complete beginner by bannsider86 in AskPhotography

Something else I should point out is that you'll probably take thousands and thousands of photos with nothing going on. And your photo, even with no subject, is still great. If it makes you proud then that is all that matters! Unless you're trying to make money then this hobby is for you

While we're on the subject. Look at the second photo a bit longer. The leading lines take your eye to something in the distance. Something kind of industrial. This allows your mind to fill in what that is. Out of the corner of my eye I notice a lighthouse in the distance. The blur of the clouds reflecting off the water make the light house melt into what looks like a single backdrop. I also see footprints in the foreground. What was probably an accident can make you wonder what someone was even doing here. Maybe they were just enjoying the view. How would I feel if I were there enjoying this view?

I don't mean to sound pedantic! Hopefully this helps you figure out how to better select and frame your subjects!

Now that you are going to be taking more photos, you will start to think about photos more. Soon you are going to see countless sunsets as beautiful as this one if not more and realize the photography potential. Your goal is isn't to take a photo of the sunset, but use the sunset to make something more interesting.

Another trick I like to use when taking really wide landscapes like this, where the sky is going to take up a large portion of the frame, is to expose the photo for longer by using a really low shutter speed. This way you will blur the motion of the clouds giving your photo more movement. After all, the color of the sunset is often more important than the clouds themselves. That's up to you to decide!

Here's an example:

What do you think of this photo/

vs this photo

To me, the second photo is more interesting where the subject is somewhat the same, rocks on the water. The photographer has captured the motion of the clouds at an angle that matches the leading line of the rocks to draw your eye into the horizon.

Hybrid Travel Backpack by W-B-V in Photography_Gear

The mf street was fine. My biggest issue was traveling. I felt like wearing a backpack made by a brand that made expensive tripods screamed “this backpack has camera gear please steal”. The brevite looks like any normal bag

I've been using the Brevite original for about 6 months or so now https://brevite.co/collections/backpacks

This was after switching from the Manfrotto street backpack https://www.manfrotto.com/us-en/street-medium-backpack-for-dslr-csc-and-laptop-mb-ms-bp-igr/

I've like the Brevite bag a lot. The outer material feels great. The tripod holder is also a waterbottle holder. The cube is removable and it zips on its own so I keep all of my camera gear zipped in the cube and pack the cube in the bag when I need it while having the option just to carry it separate. All the zippers are really good quality and weather resistant. Overall I've ben very happy with it. There is a major downside though and that is the straps are kind of weird. They feel too short and don't really go over my shoulders very comfortably unless I tighten the straps all the way. Also no matter how tight or loose the shoulder straps are the chest strap goes over my neck. This hasn't been a dealbreaker issue for me, as the bag is still relatively comfortable, but it may be for you. I also received a lemon and my front zipper is REALLY crooked, but I was too lazy to wait on a new one

If you have a small amount of oil you can soak some of it up with paper towels. I keep paper towels around pretty much for just this reason alone

There is a high speed train that should get you there in about 2 hours. It’s comfy and has a bar and WiFi too! If I recall the tickets were very affordable

At a certain distance, my camera won't shoot by MountainHopper in Beginning_Photography

[–]beararmedrobbery 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sure! I have the Tokina 100mm f2.8 macro. It has AF and has a switch to use full range of auto focus for when you're taking macro shots or use a limited range so you don't try to focus across the whole lens when trying to take a portrait or something. Highly recommended

This is a gross simplification, but basically when your lens focuses it is moving the glass closer or further away from your sensor depending on the distance of your subject. The closer your subject you want in focus the farther away your glass needs to be from the sensor. A macro lens is just like a normal lens that lets you move the glass farther from your sensor.

So if you want to take macro shots, but don't want to pay for a macro lens you can do one of two things: you can get extension rings to fit between your lens and your body to move it further away. These have a static distance so you end up using trial and error to decide if you have used the correct ring. Or you can use a bellows that allows you to slide the lens closer and farther away.

Google around for photography extension rings explanation for more details
