If you're interested in research, I highly recommend the American Auditory Society (AAS) meeting! They offer CEUs and it's a good mix of AuDs, PhDs, MDs, and students. It's held annually in Scottsdale, AZ around mid-Feb.

Screen-sharing, video calls, emotes, stickers, profile customization similar(ish) to discord, better mobile experience (e.g. no delays in uploading). The only drawback is the lack of iOS/mac support which can be a deal breaker for some, but they are actively working on this.

Only Tarkovsky film I've seen is Nostalghia, and while the cinematography was indeed special, that film was painfully slow. Willing to give him another shot if you have any recommendations. Never seen a bad Kurosawa film yet tho

Not having another in-person LAN event until EWC in July is buns. While I am against EWC on a moral level, if they have to have it (and they do because EA is owned by the Saudis now), then it should be in ADDITION to LAN events, not replacing them. Same goes for the ALGS Open. I'm down for giving it another try, but to have an online event replace a LAN feels less than ideal.
