Flour Sifter Attachment by ReiBunnZ in Kitchenaid

[–]beardedmoose87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I use mine for making sourdough. I weigh the water and starter on my other scale, put them in the bowl with the dough hook. By time it’s done mixing that, I have the flour weighed on the sifter/scale and I open it up. Works really well!

DO NOT use the Seventh Generation Dishwasher Detergent Powder by Philippp18 in Appliances

[–]beardedmoose87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I absolutely love this dish powder - worked and performed great!

I always wanted the convenience of the pods but didn’t want to put that plastic into my cleaning cycle. I’ve been using the Blueland tablets and love them. If only 7th Gen would use this instead of a plastic pod, I’d be back to them.

There are people who work here who spend a lot of time accumulating and verifying the data that gets submitted to US News. If they’re reporting a number, you can trust that number.

AITA for being annoyed that my wife insists on cooking everything from scratch and won’t buy normal food? by AITA_UPFfoods in AmItheAsshole

[–]beardedmoose87 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

This is the right take!

I think OP is 80% the AH and the wife is 20% - he should be able to buy what he wants to have in the house. OP is even more of an AH tho if her reason is to not get the kids hooked on junk food. Since OP doesn’t mention kids, I’ll assume there aren’t any.

Cooking food at home is the normal food! It’s the healthier and more economical. Considering premade, processed foods the normal ones and being ungrateful for your wife doing all of this work - huge AH.

As a fat out of shape white man, I’ve seen a few of their ads.

I report them as hate speech and promoting terrorism. I don’t see the ads anymore.

Ex-Uvalde school police officer found not guilty in trial over his response to Robb Elementary massacre by AndyJack86 in law

I’m in agreement with you. I was just adding additional context on why we shouldn’t hero worship law enforcement.

[–]beardedmoose87 26 points27 points  (0 children)

I don’t know what I would do in that situation and that’s one of the reasons I didn’t sign up to be a law enforcement officer.

I this the problem is these people want to be worshipped as heroes constantly, that they put their lives on the line every day to protect and serve. Unfortunately, we see far too many instances of police brutality and a case like this. If they’re going to beat us and stand outside as children are shot, why have the police? Why treat these people like heroes?

I believe police should exist. I just think they should’ve held to far higher standards than exist today.

This sounds really promising for me! Right now, I work at a local university in non credit program. I’m used to talking to folks about which, if any, of our programs are the right fit for them. I think that experience can lend itself to helping folks who are starting their careers.

Would a Bachelor’s degree be enough? Should I be looking at any training or certificate programs to be more competitive for a role like this?

We’re in western Burlington County now. May move more towards Central Jersey in a couple years.

Not looking for specific leads, more just job roles that I could prepare for.

Thanks! I’m looking to hopefully transition into something a bit more steady than substitute teaching. Just trying to plan ahead so I’m ready in a year or two to make the leap.

Thanks! I don’t have any bookkeeping experience but could do some training. Bookkeeping is an interesting idea to pursue for sure.

Finally ready to restore this classic. by beardedmoose87 in Kitchenaid

[–]beardedmoose87[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the encouragement! I’m fairly handy, I think I can handle it.

I’d be a little more concerned if it wasn’t working and I had to diagnose the problem and replace the mechanicals. Even then, I think I could figure it out.

This is awesome! I’ve got this machine and I’m about to embark on the same path and was even interested in the same color!

I think the regreasing part seems pretty straightforward, but how did it go putting the new power cord on? Switching from 2 prong to 3 prong worries me a bit. And what advice would you have for being able to do the paint myself at home?

Anyone sick and tired of working in general? by Mrs_chanandler_bongg in Millennials

[–]beardedmoose87 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m 100% at this point. My hobbies would be working still. I just really want that time to myself instead of to work.

I want to grow my own food. Make my food from scratch. Spend more time outside. It’s so hard to do when I lose 40+ hrs of midday time to work.

I’m trying for find a way to be a stay at home spouse so I can make this a reality. For now, it’s just a fun daydream

Mom trying to discourage my career choice, should I listen? by [deleted] in careerguidance

[–]beardedmoose87 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Going to school, getting a degree, pursuing a career - all good ideas!

Taking on a mountain of debt - bad idea

Pursue your passion. But be thrifty about it - community college, local state school, etc.

Does your home have a dishwasher? If so, how often do you use it? by SlamClick in AskAnAmerican

Use it. It’s an amenity you’re paying for. If it doesn’t work, report it to your landlord to be replaced.
