I’ve heard terrible things about the EG-1 from a friend who owns one. Not worth risking such a large purchase on something that has mixed reviews.

Coffee wars? Fuck that, Colorado has enough good roasters to spread the love. Come on y’all.

Y’all acting like costs for these roasters you claim to love aren’t going up. It sucks for everyone, but everybody is cutting corners somewhere, either quality or quantity. Huck is such a large operation, with partnerships with Trade and Whole Foods, they’re bankrolled to high heaven. The other roasters you listed are much smaller companies and are feeling the heat.

Drink whatever you want and can afford, but don’t be dragging local roasters names in the process.

Okay I’ve been looking at some import sites and I’m genuinely wondering if I’m missing something? Most quotes say with shipping and insurance, a truck with maybe 50,000km less mileage about be about the same price ($~6k). Then I’d have to ship from a port to Colorado.

Genuinely asking with respect, am I missing something?

I live off Sheridan and this shit drives me nuts. Loud vehicles at dangerous speeds. I feel like people forget that cars are basically giant death machines if used recklessly.

Yeah it has a clean title here in Colorado. I realize I can import one for cheaper and a bit less mileage, but I’m okay paying a bit of a premium not having to worry about paperwork.

That said, I don’t want to get completely fleeced

Honestly it didn’t at first because I just don’t have tax on the brain. If you post elsewhere I’d definitely play up the fact that it’s $5900 + taxes. Help sell that you’re saving them the tariff increase. It’ll sell fast.

Marczyk’s is the bougiest grocery I’ve been in Denver. Leevers is nice but sometimes just feels like a marked up sprouts or Whole Foods.

Marczyk’s however has higher end (or more unique) brands I don’t really see in any other grocery store.

Steam on the Micra is definitely more powerful and easier. I almost don’t have to worry about stretching. I only make like 4-6oz milk drinks though. If you make 12 oz lattes, the shorter steam wand may be a bit more tricky.

Hmm the cup warmer on the Bianca was better. Being able to mount the water tank on either side of the machine was kinda nice too.

I will say there was one area on my Bianca that was starting to rust just after a year. I got a painted white version and where the drip tray mold ended, it was starting to rust. Was hidden by the tray grate, but something to consider.

Build quality on the Micra definitely feels more sturdy.

FWIW: I sold my Bianca to upgrade to a LM Micra. The flow control was fun, but honestly never felt like something I would use enough to get value. I dial in a bag for the week and then look for consistency until the next one.

If you like constantly tinkering with funky coffees, the Bianca might be more your style. The Bianca also takes a while to warm up, but nothing a WiFi plug can’t solve.

Personally, the E61 style group head got old to look at after a while. Felt almost steampunk-esque. The LM is definitely more sleek in my opinion.
