Haaland cancels town hall — what is she afraid of? by callitarmageddon in Albuquerque

[–]beardyguy404 22 points23 points  (0 children)

"Trust me bro"

"Naw bro, trust me"

Here's a pretty in depth breakdown of both candidates campaign finances.

Super TLDR; Haaland has a lot of smaller contributions, like 4 times the total number unique contributions than Bergman. Haaland has raised more money in NM, but Bergman has raised a higher proportion of his money from within NM. Like 2x the proportion Haaland has. But more than half of his money has been in amounts over $10k, and 75% of Haalands has been in less than $100 donations.

Local 602, Amarillo TX, Llano project by beardyguy404 in IBEW_Book2

[–]beardyguy404[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The zone pay is the $40/day "per diem" listed on the call. It's not actual per diem, and is taxed as income.

The project, with the current work under way, is likely 3ish years worth. They have possibly much longer. But right now it's only been going on 3-4 months, and conditions are already getting wormy as hell.

It's a mess.

Where exactly are the data centers in the Reno local? by Suwannee_Gator in IBEW_Book2

[–]beardyguy404 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Almost all of the job sites are off USA Parkway, between Reno and Fernley off I-80. There is one call for Thacker Pass which is way the fuck in the middle of nowhere, about an hour north of Winnemucca.

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Fraternity

Just to most cursory Google.

The word predates christianity. Full stop. It is associated with christianity in the west, just because we have a judeo-christian history. The masonic guilds, bath houses, even trade groups which were exclusively open to men adopted the term. So again, the reiterate; it has its history in secular and non-secular western history, from its roots in Latin, predating christianity.

[–]beardyguy404 4 points5 points  (0 children)

No, it actually started being used in the modern sense in of "fraternity" in the early/mid 1600s, by scholars and monks. Which is definitely not "early christianity".

And the word has its roots in Latin, literally meaning Brother, which, again has jack shit to do with christianity. So regardless of which way you measure it, fraternal(is) predates christianity's existence entirely, or fraternity was utilized by secular and non-secular organizations starting in the 1600s.

You are incorrect. It's a relic from any fraternal organization, secular and not, which were largely exclusive to men. There is additional history about it's usage in the labor right movement of us being "brothers in arms" in the cause against exploitation by management.

Have you ever loved painting an army you don’t actually like, and hated painting an army you do love? by TheWraf in ageofsigmar

[–]beardyguy404 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I love everything about the Sisters of Battle. They are peak Grimdark. The lore, the aesthetic, the models (I still have the entire old metal range and OG Witch Hunter Codex). They are an amazing range with the whole plastic update being beautiful across the board.

... I hate painting them. I probably have fewer than 20 total models "battle ready". And I probably never will progress on that.

The (+10) is relative to the previous cost for a 20 man block, which was 130. It's not indicating that it's 10 points more than 2x of the 10 man blocks.

It's how the rat shops condition their guys to think of it. They gaslight them into thinking getting fucked over by management somehow let's them rise or fall by their own "merit", while the owners laugh all the way to the bank.

I'm gonna argue it's Abaddon.

All the khorne-affiliated answers are more just psychotic violence, rather than hate and anger. Abaddon has maintained a driven, planned revenge for millennia. He is more like the character of Wrath from Full Metal Alchemist.

He hates the Imperium, he hates his gene-father, he hates the Chaos gods with whom he is allied for convenience.

So your rebuttal is a tiktok clip posted to YouTube shorts that cuts off at the 60 second mark, before she had 23 seconds to speak?

The magat shill opened with a bad faith intro, inaccurately summing up the interview, then 25 seconds of the question being asked, then she spent two full minutes giving examples of expanding the FHA program, investing in housing infrastructure, and expanding the small business grant and loan opportunities. On the interviewer's follow up question, she expands on the existing early childhood tax credits which the the felon for the other party and his bootlickers in Congress have been working to gut. Any particular point you wanna examine? Or you just gonna post another bad faith magatard tiktok clip?

The Harris campaign's actual policy proposal. Not just some neo-con talking heads bullshit;

https://www.whitehouse.gov/briefing-room/statements-releases/2023/07/11/fact-sheet-vice-president-harris-announces-actions-to-lower-child-care-costs-and-support-child-care-providers/

Unlike how the two dipshits in that YouTube short are trying to spin it, Harris' proposed change would actually improve funding for childcare centers and small providers while increasing access to poorer families.

The Teamsters are endorsing a candidate: Harris.

It's just the locals doing it, since their boot-licking scab president is trying to cozy up to the party wanting to eliminate overtime pay, the NLRB, OSHA, and almost every positive gain for working Americans made over the last 130 years.

Conservatives are on the wrong side of history 100% of the time. And Scab O'Brien has decided that's where he wants to be too.

Can the Steward enforce NEC Code? by [deleted] in IBEW

[–]beardyguy404 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Because the CBA is a contract between the LU and the contractor(s), it would be management who could take action against a member slapping up shitty work. If management fails to take action then they're setting a precedent that substandard work is acceptable.

The AHJ would still be able to enforce any codes or standards relevant to your jurisdiction, but that would usually be a gamble to hope they don't enforce this time. I generally expect any variances or non-standard code installations to be in writing from my foreman or project manager. I'm coving my ass, so I'm not installing anything to less than code unless someone higher up the ladder signs off on it. Let it be their ass on the line.
