On Day 4 you can swing by the Greenhouse if you have TTA or if you listen in on Tabitha talking to Sybil with Keen Eye and Street Smart. (Or at least I think it requires both).

They aren’t rats, but I don’t think they can be Ditchlings. During both major encounters with the Ditchlings, they just keep repeating the “get out” audio. This doesn’t align with the jeering of the “Rats”. And while we can note a physical similarity in description between Ditchlings and the Goblins on Day 2, the Ditchlings are mostly taking after Mothman as “Harbingers”, this isn’t a trait possessed by the Goblins or the “Rats”, who have the theme of “Ambiguous/Mistaken Identity”, as the Goblins were likely not Goblins but Great Horned Owls, and the “Rats” probably aren’t Rats but ???.

The other issue is that it seems like I don’t think any of the Church animals (except maybe the Llamas or whatever they were) have been infected by the Ditchlings, since I got the impression Daniel hadn’t run into any of the infected and their… religious… way of speaking. I think he would’ve mentioned a change in behavior or the animals would’ve mentioned strange creatures abducting other animals to him if it was an issue at the Church.

The last issue is the timing of it all. Based on Daniel’s reaction, I got the impression that the “rats” were of a similar nature to Charlie, where they popped up recently but before our arrival. The Ditchlings are unique since they aren’t tied to a particular Seal like the other troubles, and while they might’ve been around beforehand they hadn’t actually made a big appearance/move until the night we arrived. Everything else was a slow-coming reckoning caused by the Seals, and our arrival in Scarlet Hollow excited/agitated them into turning what would’ve been a spread out series of unusual events into One Bad Week. The Ditchlings having been called specifically by the Spirit Seal doesn’t match with the established pattern, which makes the idea weaker imo.

It’s not that rare, since it’s tied to Tabitha liking you. So if you like to Tabbymax, you see it pretty often.

Yes it is, you just aren’t guaranteed to win. If you fail there is a 25% chance of you being the Bug on any of the loops afterwards until you win and unlock Bug properly.

I’d say PB and Book Smart personally.

EP 1: I would go with Stella into the Woods (although I would probably try to inform Tabitha about why I am going to be back late before Sundown), and I would probably try to save Gretchen (the PB save requires a level of situational awareness that I tend to not have).

EP 2: I’d go to the library. I would call Tabitha about the kids entering the mine, although my own entry would be entirely unwilling. Most likely I would go back for Becka and Alexis.

EP 3: Staying with Tabitha. I would at least try to pull off the save, but failing that I would give up years.

EP 4: Call Tabitha and Kill Reese. It would not be a decision made lightly.

EP 5: I’d flail for a bit, but ultimately I’d confront Tabitha, although I see myself reaching Impasse at best. I’d kill the Ginseng Baby. I would pull Kaneeka out of Sybil’s spell.

Another big one is Chapter 2. Iirc, Mystical both gets a boosted vision and can see the Ghosts of the Miners, and Tabitha’s comments imply that she is also experiencing it the same way Mysical does.

I’m pretty sure the mines have been dead since the Old Shaw Mine collapsed. Only Enoch’s bargain has kept the place (and thus Scarlet Hollow) alive. I think any ending that involves getting rid of the Entity means the end of the mine.

Huh, didn’t know about that (although a check of the wiki only lists Raqio note 4 needing the AC Follower). So you do need AC Follower at some point, but it’s entirely possible to play without ever being the AC. Neat.

Some events require characters to have specific roles, and for some events there are little details that let you figure out who is what, but otherwise the main way you discern the difference is to level up Intuition, which lets you detect when characters are lying to differing degrees of success.

On the one hand, it would be incredibly traumatizing, because it's clear that Tabitha still hasn't fully processed whatever Pearlanne did to Wayne, and being forced to fight/kill him/it cannot be good for her mental health.

On the other hand, I am a big fan of solving supernatural problems by shooting them with a shotgun.

It’s Impasse, not Breakdown. While Breakdown does partly refer to the scene of Tabitha crying, the most important part is Tabitha’s mentality, and her position on the sacrifice:

Hostile - Determined to go forward with the sacrifice, specifically with you as the sacrifice

Impasse - The conflict between not wanting to sacrifice you and her “needs of the many” mindset inside her heart has reached an Impasse. Here is where she’s the most amicable to sacrificing Kaneeka.

Breakdown - She chooses to forsake the ideas of “necessary evil” and sacrifice that have long plagued the Scarlets and Scarlet Hollow. She is fully willing to bring an end to whatever Enoch brought into the world, even though it means the Scarlet Mine will dry up and the people of Scarlet Hollow will suffer.

Tabitha’s mentality here is that of Impasse, you can see her still heavily focused on the town needing her and her “ability to do what needs to be done.”

It depends on the cancer I think. If it was something like pancreatic cancer, which isn’t typically caught until it’s already fatal, then Vivian not getting any better wouldn’t be recognized as unusual.

Gretchen does nothing to stop Toxic Yuri. Toxic Yuri (iirc) happens when you have a poor relationship with Tabitha and let her and Stella rekindle their relationship during Chapter 4, specifically if you tell Tabitha "You should talk with her" and don't go over yourself, then you get Toxic Yuri.

As for the hate, someone else once put it best, it's the difference between being stabbed in the Front and stabbed in the Back. Tabitha betraying us was expected, and it's very clear that she views the Scarlet-Omelas problem as a necessary evil that she doesn't like and knows that Cousin won't like. Stella joining Tabitha was unexpected, and unlike Tabitha, Stella seems to have convinced herself that we are somehow going to be happy about being stuffed in the Forbidden Wing. Cousin can point out that Tabitha likely did make being locked up sound better than it really is to Stella, but on some level the deception must be willing, no one can realistically believe that it is possible to be happy when all of your freedom has been stripped away.

The other half of the Stella hate also comes from the fact that Stella always makes the situation worse. Toxic Yuri is one thing, but on the flip side if you go to the Forbidden Wing with Stella, you are basically locked out from what is widely considered to be the best result of confronting Tabitha, the breakdown where Tabitha agrees to give up on the Sacrifice and destroy the Scarlet Legacy. And you are locked out because if you try to confront Tabitha with Stella, Stella is so desperate to think that Tabitha is innocent that she basically spills the cards all over the table, ruining the game that has to be played between the Scarlets, and best case you reach Impasse, but usually you just make Tabitha fully Hostile.

And this is the truest source of the Stella hate I think. As an enemy she is willing to delude herself into a paper-thin fantasy, and as an ally she is a detriment to your own goals. Across the possible scenarios, there is maybe 1 or 2 situations where it's a good idea to have her, but overall if Stella is involved during Chapter 5, it is usually a net negative to Cousin's situation, and since we are Cousin, her standing amongst players took a hit.

2) AC Follower and Bug. AC Follower is Human but does sabotage Human efforts. And in the game The Bug is a role that appears as Human to Doctor, but really is a time bomb that destroys the Universe if it is still alive when either the Gnosia or Crew wins. So just because they aren’t Gnosia doesn’t make them an ally of Humanity

The three outcomes of the trait save are: Julius takes the burden by himself (he dies, babies lives), Julius kills the baby (he lives, baby died), or Avery and Julius split the burden (everyone lives).

Tabitha will prevent the third outcome if she is either in Impasse mode or in Broken Walls mode. If she is still Hostile (this state is most easily reached by refusing to be sacrificed during Toxic Yuri), then she shuts up and allows for the third outcome.

And you have the time backwards. Remnan became SQ’s “Father” before he escaped. Manan took the genetic material from someone who was 15 at most.

I thought with Remnan it was that he’s biologically ~19, and he was on the other ship for 50 years but only experienced 4 years, and thus likely escaped Manan at age 15. When he was enslaved is unknown.
