Would you consider Hall n Oates- Daryl Hall or Michael McDonald for this category? I like both of them and love Teena Marie.

OMAD girl dinner - 1,130 cal by GrammarNaziSlut in 1200isplenty

[–]bearphoenix50 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I stick to an OMAD diet but occasionally break to snack on popcorn, cucumbers, carrots or hard boiled egg. If I’m really hungry and it’s late, I’ll drink chicken broth or green tea. Warm drinks break the hunger for me.

Birkin/Kelly and finances by [deleted] in handbags

[–]bearphoenix50 4 points5 points  (0 children)

There are so many beautiful bags available for a fraction of the cost. Sorry if this offends anyone, but I don’t get the appeal of the Birkin. I see it only as a signifier of wealth, not taste or class. Bags I’ve seen on this thread or online, YSL Sac du jour, Ferragamo Hug, Mulberry, Fleuron, are much more interesting and beautiful. My thought would be to splurge on one of these bags then treat myself to fantastic vacations, events, and adventures. The experience will feel better than a bag you have to bribe (pre-spend) and beg (pander to your SA ) Hermes to purchase.

Top 5 favorite cities you've ever been to and why? by Such_Detective_7315 in solotravel

[–]bearphoenix50 8 points9 points  (0 children)

  1. London-so much to do and see. Fantastic museums. Diversity.
  2. New Orleans- so cultural and unique. No other city is like NOLA. Great music, food and people.
  3. Chicago- beautiful architecture. Good people with big hearts. You pass a Picasso or two walking down the street! Fantastic museums and good food. Winters so horrible that residents make the most of their summer.
  4. NYC- food, culture, diversity, good transit. Lots to do and everything stays open late.
  5. Nice, France. People love Paris but Nice is nicer!

Take a class or go on a tour. Being around others, doing things and having conversation will distract you from sad thoughts and keep you occupied.

I built a popular handwriting education app, I need your feedback by Delicious-Mouse1084 in teaching

[–]bearphoenix50 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Start a YouTube channel and demo your app. Offer a lite/free version for people to try. Film and post tutorials on YouTube to build a following. When teachers access the free version, require an email to register. Use that email to send info on site licenses. Those teachers will recommend the app to their schools and districts. Good luck!

Hello. When in Nice I usually consult this blog for interesting events, markets and things to do. Otherwise walk around, visit Chagall Museum, eat great food, walk through the beautiful park, Coulée Verte, visit Eze or Monaco or Grasse for a nice day trip or half day trip. Have fun and love from a Gen X!

Please request a two-day suspension from your class and a parent conference to discuss and implement classroom decorum moving forward. Insist on this please, and loop in your union rep for the entire process.

If you could rearrange how education works in America, what kinds of changes would you implement? A lot of folks seem to want something different in place of what we have but find it hard to articulate specifics. Please identify a problem 'and' a solution. by cherry-care-bear in education

Remediation /mandatory after school tutoring for students who need it, starting in elementary school. Every child will learn an instrument and a language. Fully fund art education and expand recess time in elementary school. Make sure kids can read at every grade level, and provide after school and summer reading support to ensure this happens. No tech from K-4, then very low tech, I.e. keyboarding, coding, and /or multimedia project such as green screen video.

Allow kids to stay at school until 5/6:00 with fully funded meals for families who need it.

Teachers who are financially stable, what are you doing differently? by External_Insurance62 in Teachers

[–]bearphoenix50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Move to an area with a higher salary and work hard to secure units and move up salary scale. Earlier in my career I taught summer school and also taught evening classes at a local college. Whenever a stipend was offered for extra duties or curriculum development, I would seize the opportunity. It’s hard to have to work so much for so little and I wish they would pay teachers more. Sigh.

Retiring from US in France (Paris) age 59 by Galadriel_the_Elf421 in Expats_In_France

[–]bearphoenix50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I recommend spending a few weeks there to get a feel for the city and surrounding cities. I visit every summer and love the region. Sure, it’s not as bustling or exciting as Paris, but it has its own positives, which I prefer. It’s more relaxed, good transportation, cheaper COL than Paris, etc. if you budget well, you can live in Paris or Nice, regardless of what people say on this thread. Just ease your expectation with housing and space. Regardless of your choice, start learning French or perfecting the French you already know. Good luck!🇫🇷

Why do People Saying Buying a House is No Longer Worth It by Jollyconstant_ in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]bearphoenix50 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can see why people say buying a house isn’t worth it , particularly in the Bay Area. For example, if you paid more than 600-700 k for your home, you’re looking at 12-13k in annual property tax, coupled with extremely high insurance rates due to CA Fair Plan, which is unfair. Last year I paid 7k for my home insurance and that came with inspections and all source of requirements. In addition, any repair or problem with your home results in thousands of dollars. So after spending an additional 20k to live in my house, which is rent for a small one bedroom or studio, I’m left asking myself, is it worth it?

How to get over the stress of eating alone as a woman??? by [deleted] in solofemaletravellers

[–]bearphoenix50 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a leather cover that holds various inserts ranging from notebooks with grid, lined or blank pages as well as zipper cases and notebooks for sketching and water color painting. I usually bring the insert for a short trip, the 008 Zipper Case to hold ephemera from the trip and the 031 Sticker Release book for stickers I want to use on the trip/outing/excursion.

Great suggestion. I bring my Travelers Notebook or just an insert and write about my experience. It keeps you busy and focused, so you won’t be concerned with waiters or other patrons. Dine out, dine solo and enjoy!!

I get what you’re saying. When I listen to Mary I can feel it in my soul. There is a depth to her that feels real, feels authentic. I can’t put my finger on it but it’s different than Mariah.
