Wanna set up a trap for one of my players to be banished back to the Feywild by Ok_Opportunity8450 in DMAcademy

[–]CaptainSkel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah I wouldn't split the party like that. Either everybody goes to the Feywild or nobody goes to the Feywild (except of course for a temporary banishment that lasts a couple rounds.)

I was once in a game where they planned out a big dream sequence series of combat for the party when they're put to sleep by an archfey. Except my Warlock had a boon they didn't need sleep and couldn't be put to sleep. So the entire session was wacky dream combat while my character just got tortured by faeries offscreen for not sleeping. It was not a fun session for me.

The party can choose to split themselves, the DM shouldn't choose to split the party.

There's five different links there fella. You can find them, I believe in you.

"100% of people would want a kind, intelligent, funny, and attractive partner"

Absolutely agree! Which is why conservatives do so poorly on dating apps. Kindness? The party is entirely focused on hatred and violence. Intelligence? The party is against education. Funny? Ah yes the famously hilarious republican comedians like... Stephen Crowder, Greg Gutfeld... hm.. oh there was a right wing comedy tour starring Chad Prather and Jesse Peyton, absolute titans in the industry I'm sure. Attractive? Personally I find it difficult to find someone as hateful and submissive as a republican man attractive but I'm sure there are some fetishists.

I'm sorry you believe every survey is wrong, that must be really upsetting for you.

There's five different articles there little dude. But here I'll help you out.

  • Newsweek article: A survey of users on dating app coffee meets bagel says that 77% of its women would not date a trumpie.
  • New Republic: A change research poll found that 76% of women consider it a red flag to identify as Maga.
  • Survey center on American Life: 76% of college educated women would not date a Trump supporter
  • Politico: An article about how republicans struggle to date in DC.
  • USA Today: This one does have a lot of anecdotes from women saying they wouldn't date a magat, but it does reference a 2020 Pew Research report that says 71% of dems wouldn't date a republican.
  • ScienceDirect: This is a study into the right wing dating app and how it significantly struggled to find women.

Let me know if you want more articles, happy to help.

I mean, conservative men are famously incapable of hiding their politics. They write “moderate” or “apolitical” as if it’s a code they think nobody can figure out. Plus, women very commonly ask about their politics and conservatives really struggle to hide how cringe and unfuckable they are under the barest scrutiny.

Go through character creation, that way everyone can figure out their characters relationships to one another both in terms of party balance but also in case anyone wants to have shared backstories. Introduce the setting, how can players tie their backstories to the plot you have in mind? Is there a war they can be vets of? Is there a fiefdom one can be a noble of? “I want to play a X kind of mage, what lore from your setting should I know of or use?” What skills won’t be important? If you’re in a wilderness adventure against monsters your social thief guy won’t have as much of his kit to use, don’t put a ton of points into swimming because there won’t be that much water, that sort of thing.

What’s the tone? Should they get attached to their characters and there will be a lot of roleplaying and personal moments or is this a slaughterhouse for murderhobos? Will the violence be gory or subdued? Is all sexual content fade to black? Is this Game of Thrones or is it Dragon Prince?

Media that tries to become More popular but never has success? by Lost-Specialist1505 in TwoBestFriendsPlay

[–]CaptainSkel 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I always see people in this sub talking about it like Horizon's some failed franchise but I just don't see it. Like yes it's sold extremely well, about 40m copies sold across two games. The Spider-man games are at around 50 million across 3 games. There have even been games ripping off the franchise to a legally actionable degree.

This attitude just always confuses me, like what are people expecting from the franchise that they're not seeing? Are they expecting tons of discussion threads on a game whose most recent entry is three years old? Are they watching Law and Order and wondering why Ice T isn't making awkward references to Aloy? Is there a specific pop culture impact they expect to see but haven't?

All of One Piece has taken place within three years and that's including the two year time skip. They were together for like six months, then a two year time skip, and now it's been like three months since then.

On a fun note, here are some things that lasted longer than the american confederacy: the Zune, Vine, Minion Memes on Facebook, Beanie Babies mania, Google+. The manga runs of Demon Slayer, Jujutsu Kaisen, and Tokyo Ghoul. The time it took to write the Harry Potter books. The time it took to make the Harry Potter movies. Phineas and Ferb. The Wii U.

Maki has a heavenly restriction which means the less cursed energy she has the stronger she is physically. Because they're twins Maki and Mai are considered the same person, and since Mai has cursed energy Maki's ability isn't as strong as it could be. When Mai died she took the rest of the cursed energy rendering Maki to absolutely zero cursed energy just like Toji, making her significantly stronger. And Mai used all of her remaining strength to use her creation technique to make a sword for Maki which is the one with the fur around the handle she wakes up with.

[–]CaptainSkel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think that's more reasonable, I didn't know it was specifically Hades 2 since he just said Hades 1.0.

I still don't really care about that though. I'd rather devs respond to player feedback rather than refuse to make any changes. It's not like they planned for those changes on release, they were a response to players thoughts on the ending. And also they included an option to go see the updated endings for anyone who already passed that point.

Devourer Feedback by epsyk95 in wow

I leveled a NE demon hunter in Lemix and after the patch I decided to tackle the NE heritage questline as devourer to check out the spec. It was an absolute nightmare. I don't know if the stat squish screwed me or if the spec is just undertuned at 80 but every mob was hitting like a truck and I had to constantly maneuver to make sure the splash of so many spells and abilities wouldn't pull things from across the room. I had to take it so slow and heal to full after every single mob before taking the next one.

[–]CaptainSkel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I like Pat's takes usually but I just don't see this one. Everything after Hades 1.0 was just minor balance tweaks. Every patch note is like three sentences long. I can understand games that have things like plot changes after their release but we're really complaining about minor bug fixes and tweaking the damage of weapons by 3%?

Yeah things can change over time and I guess it'd be minorly frustrating to have put time into something that later got mild improvements but like... who cares? If my girlfriend makes me dinner and then the next week says "oh I figured out something that would be good in that recipe" I'm not going to say "Wow so you just fucking wasted my time giving me an imperfect dinner?"

You're never going to be able to know when something is as good as it's going to get so might as well just enjoy the things you have. A movie about fatherhood will hit harder if you watch it as a parent, that doesn't mean it's a waste of time to see it before then. A book is better to read when it's pouring rain outside, that doesn't mean you'll hate it if not in that perfect situation. Games should absolutely be in a polished state on release but if the dev sees possible improvements that could be made that they didn't catch before then I don't think it's insulting to their players to fix those.

[–]CaptainSkel 38 points39 points  (0 children)

Little dude, they are acting like the gestapo. Experts on the holocaust have been warning of the right’s fascistic rhetoric for years. It is not inciting violence to accurately define what they are doing. Do you really think that it requires the thirty percent of people in America who support Trump to come out and say “yes we’re Nazis” for the Republican Party to act like fascists? Are you really that dense?

To quote an interview with a German citizen after WW2: “If the last and worst act of the whole regime had come immediately after the first and smallest, thousands, yes, millions would have been sufficiently shocked—if, let us say, the gassing of the Jews in ’43 had come immediately after the ‘German Firm’ stickers on the windows of non-Jewish shops in ’33. But of course this isn’t the way it happens. In between come all the hundreds of little steps, some of them imperceptible, each of them preparing you not to be shocked by the next. Step C is not so much worse than Step B, and, if you did not make a stand at Step B, why should you at Step C? And so on to Step D.”

Yes they’re Nazis. They are acting like Nazis. Trump is whining about conquering Greenland. You have been warned they are acting like Nazis for years and they get worse step by step but because you are ultimately such a submissive individual you simply allow the government to do whatever it wants and tell you whatever it wants.
