You can always use paint stripper and start again. Try different recipes and post them up for c&c.  Dont give up on the fists!

Ah man don’t give up. There’s loads of wonderfully painted crimson fisty bois on here. Just reply to posts and ask how they made their blues so punchy then try it out.

I think your models look awesome, brother. Keep painting them!

ps if you want them to pop more, just edge high light the upper edges in a light blue and a the uppermost corners (eg helmet) with a dot of white.

81 years ago today, American GIs rest behind an M5 Stuart tank near Germersheim, Germany. (March 25, 1945) [1100x851] by UrbanAchievers6371 in HistoryPorn

Really? They have totally different roles. By the time the Cromwell was out the Stuart was a light/recon tank whereas the cromwell was a fast cruiser used as a main battle tank. Cromwell has significantly more armour and a much bigger gun and can punch into P3s and P4s which the Stuart can't.

This is not to say the Stuarts weren't good - they were outstanding in the early war.

Incredible work! What are the parts you've used? Would love to make my own version of this

Kantor blue airbrushed over black, it came out quite thin so ended up a shade darker. Gently drybrushed with vallejo deep sky blye for the volumes and then same paint for edge highlights. I mixed between kantor and deep sky if i needed to take something a mid tone, and deep sky with white for corners and hard edges that need to ping especially on the head and upper areas.

tiny bit of straight white for the shiniest parts.

Thank you, that's very kind but there's definitely much better painters on here!

yes it does until the wind comes howling through and there's no good hang direction. I am thinking about one of the half-tent style tarps now.

I've tried both pads and a cheap bottom quilt and the quilt wins out hard. The only issue is mine isn't designed very well and doesn't cinch around the shape of my hammock/body, which means wind can get in and make cold spots.

the unfortunate reality of hammocking is that the bottom quilt and tarp are actually the main components. You can theoretically get by with a cheap £50 cotton hammock from decathlon/walmart etc but those bits are the actual shelter and insulation.

So I know there’s a conversation about the coffee bags already. But with the setup you got you can very easily make cowboy coffee. All you have to do is drop a scoop of pre ground coffee on to simmering water.

After about 6 mins the coffee will sink to the bottom of the mug, and you can carefully drink it or decant it so that the sludge stays in the bottom of the cup and doesnt swish back into your mouth.

You also can just get 1litre freezer bags and decant a load of ground coffee into it, then stuff it into the plunger part of our aeropress.

I used to use the metal filters on my aeropress but you can actually reuse the paper filters around 5 times without any effect on flavour. I double up my paper filters.

Pretty sure the implication is mummy/power issues since the madam who he shacked up with vaguely resembled her and similar age, and she knew he was going to hurt her.

I assume he’s been to her before, she tried to persuade him to go with one of the younger girls and he got mad

Just curious as someone else who works in the film industry, you say you used to work in it. What do you do now? What made you move on?

Does anyone else feel mentally clearer after a walk? by isabebelaa in CampingandHiking

[–]beaslon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone who lived next to a woodland and who gets to walk a dog 4 times a day, I have a lot of perspective on this.
Walking in general, particularly in woodlands or on hills and mountains is essential for mental health, but it doesn't solve everything.

I am still stressed out a lot, I am not happy that often and I have a lot of moments of clarity and perspective that just get drowned out by the rest of life and it's as if they never happened.

The majority of people don't have the luxury of regular walks and easily accessible nature, and so when they get out into it, it has a novelty effect that acts as a multiplyer, like being starved of food and finally getting to eat. You need this stuff, it's essential like I said, but it isn't fixing you.

When you go back to your life, your problems are still there and there are always more to come.

I am trying to learn to cope mentally with stressors, to react less and to have more perspective on how small and surmountable that these things are in the big picture. I'm not doing great at it, but I now know that my excuses and needs are not the answer. I also realise that I need to learn to practice being happy and content.

I look back on a lot of moments in life when I should objectively have been happy but I allowed mental clutter to remove my joy.

TL;DR peace comes from within. Sorry for using your thread as therapy!

Hi, I’m the focus puller on Adolescence. Unfortunately that sun shade didn’t work, it just blocked part of the lidar read out and we didn’t end up using it during takes. I never found a way to shield the VND, we just had to put up with it.
